If you are drafting this weekend... (1 Viewer)

Sweet Love

I am very hesitant to go into a draft and take a guy like TJ or DD as my WR2 or RB3 while they come into the season literally limping. I have done this before in the past (with Michael Bennett...insert joke here) and what started as a mild sprain lasted the entire season. Has anyone had a draft in the past couple of days? Have they been going significantly lower than their ADP (FF Calculator has Jones at 22 and Driver at roughly 41 off the board). I would love to hear people's thoughts as to whether they are steals because their value is a little lower than normal or if they tend to stay away from drafting an injured player regardless of where they get them (within reason of course).

Drafted last night, 12 teams. Driver went about where you'd expect him to sans injury concerns. Don't know if the guy that took him was on top of that situation or not. I would have targeted him about 5-10 WR slots lower.

TJ went way earlier than I expected & far too soon IMO. I want to say late 2nd or early 3rd round. It wasn't even a RB heavy draft either. By the end of the 2nd there were 2 or 3 QBs and 5 or 6 WRs off the board. There were A LOT of other better & less risky RBs available at the time. Maybe that owner watched the ESPN FF show where he went 10th(?) overall and though he was a steal. We really need more great programming like that to air right before our drafts.

Same deal with Jones at my draft last night - he went 14th overall, which really surprised me. Coincidentally enough, the same team also drafted Donald Driver, but that came at 58th overall. Both Jones and Driver were this team's #2, behind Willie Parker and Deion Branch, respectively. For what it's worth, I think this squad will struggle.

Deion Branch is the #1 WR? He's never hit 1000 yards while Driver is coming off 3 consecutive 1200+ ones. Guy lucked out after a bad #! WR pick. It's amazing to me how little respect Driver merits amongst the non-shark crowd. He's a poor mans Marvin Harrison.

Everyone in my league was scared of Driver's injury. Last night he went for $4 in our auction redraft. Other similarly ranked WRs went for $19-$26.

This preseason, Driver's failed a physical with a nagging shoulder and now is sidelined with a foot. I'm relieved to hear that he should be good for the opener, but his body's already broken down twice before the season. With his advancing age, that's certainly not a good sign...
