If Brady goes down then just pick up Garoppolo if you want. No one else is going to draft him and it's unlikely someone else is going to pick him up after waivers if Brady does go down. If for some reason someone did take Garoppolo after Brady went down then you just pick up the next best QB on waivers as there sure be a couple available.
Drafting a back up QB as your back up QB is really a terrible, terrible idea. Not even trying to be a jerk, it's just such a bad strategy.

Depends on bench size. GG will be drafted in my league. We have 12 team league and do 21 rounds in the draft..If I draft Bradey in my league,I'm deff going to try and get GG.

In a one QB league I see no need to grab JG, he will likely produce at normal fantasy QB replacement level not at Tom Brady level. Like @Hawkeye21 said in a one QB league there should be plenty of guys who will produce at a similar level available. Now if you are in a Super-Flex league (which are superior in all ways
) and you don't want to take a second QB early then you should absolutely go after JG late and worry about the bye week later.

I agree with most of your post but not the bolder. If Brady went down a lot of people would be submitting waiver bids on JG.
That's surprising. I am in a lot of 20 round leagues and JG isn't even being looked at in those. Had a 30 round draft and he didn't even go. He's ranked qb58 and even with a brady injury wouldn't be top 20.

His favorite team on his profile is the Pats---I think there is a fair amount of Home Bias going on. The only way I would pick up JG is if it were a perpetual keeper league. I think most of us would agree he would be better off taking a lottery ticket. i.e Robert Turbin, Vernon Davis, DeAngelo Henderson, Chris Carson, Paul Richardson, JuJu Smith-Shuster, Branden Oliver, Tyler Boyd and if he wants a Pats player Malcolm Mitchell with that 21st pick over Garoppolo.

Why wouldn't you just draft a known commodity back-up? You can get a guy like Dak in around 11/12.
This surprises me. With 32 starters, this would make him the 26th ranked BACKUP quarterback. Surely he's not worse than:
Henne, Clemens, Keenum, Geno, Petty, Barkley just to name a few. I think he has to be considered a top-10 backup QB given the power of the offense he's on.
It's not really about that, it's more about who has a better chance to start. Guys like Mallett, Kap, and Moore are ranked higher because their chances of seeing the field are so much higher than Jimmys. Zero chance JG plays unless a freak injury happens to TB.
Maybe I can see Mallet, since Flacco is actually hurt, but hard to see why Cutler is any more likely to get hurt than Brady, and Kap doesn't even have a team.
Nothing wrong with different approaches, but for me, after Tolzien and rookies behind placeholding starters, I'm going after Garoppolo, Hundley, Daniel for the strength of the offense they stand to inherit. (Assuming of course, a deep enough league to merit holding backup QBs at all. I did play in one 32-teamer where all backups and many 3rd stringers were rostered, but in most 12-teamers of normal depth all these guys are going to be on the wire except the rooks.)
Not about Cutler likely getting hurt, more about him likely getting benched. Chances of Cutler getting benched might be 15% where as Brady its 0%.

They can go right ahead and do that if they really need a back up QB on their team. Garoppolo is going to have to be better than the QB you drafted to be worth picking up which is possible but I'm not wasting a waiver bid on him unless I'd have to. Regardless of that he's not worth drafting in most formats.
Interesting. I would think if the Dolphins wanted Moore to start they wouldn't have gone and gotten Cutler in the first place. That signing tells me they don't trust Moore to start, so I'd put the % much lower.
Admittedly, to my untrained eye, Moore is pretty decent for a backup, and I expected Miami to roll with him when Tannehill first went down. But the coaching staff and front office appear to think differently.
If there is a significant risk of a midseason QB change, I suppose the ranking makes sense. But it's still something I'd be inclined to do through waivers after the starter had a string of bad games, rather than go into the season planning for it. My approach to backup RBs is similar. I don't target my own handcuffs specifically, but I like to carry a few "backup in good situation" guys whose value stands to spike if the starter gets hurt.
15% likely to start isn't suggesting they want Moore to start. 15% is extremely low and we're splitting hairs here. If you want to put it at 5% then that's fine too, just saying that the reason moore is higher than JG is because even at 5%, he is much more likely to start than Brady is at 0%.
Both QB's aren't draftable in any format under 20 rounds, and at the end of the day I'm assuming OP isn't talking about a 20+ round draft so the answer is still a hard NO.
