If you drafted Big Ben.. (1 Viewer)

11.07 in a 10 teamer as my QB1.5(b).

Took Kolb as my QB1.5(a) in the 6th.

Figured it was worth it to go earlier on Ben by a round or two to make sure I had top 10 insurance for Kolb. If only one of the two pans out, I still have (hopefully) a top 10 QB to go with MJD, R.White, B.Marshall, L.McCoy, J.Finley (from the first 5 rounds). If they both play well, I have trade bait (to hedge McCoy).

Ryan, Stafford and Favre were all still available when I took Ben and they went 11.09, 12.09 and 13.06 respectively. I think he has more top-5 upside (p/g) than those 3 and I need a hedge on Kolb.

Sorry if this comes off as a look-at-me, but I thought my reach for him needed some context or I'd look like an idiot. But then again, I might have just provided the proof that I am.

Kolb in the 6th in a 10 teamer seems like a reach to me.I just got Kolb in the 10th round of a 12 man league as my started with Roeth backing him up in the 13th like I said.Lots of talent to take in the 6th and many other QB's you could have taken a little later.
 
Got Big Ben at 10.03 in a 14 team redraft league. Surprisingly four QBs went in the first round, so a lot of owners got nervous and started to reach for QBs.

I selected Matt Ryan as my QB1 at 7.12. Feeling quite comfortable with Ryan and Big Ben for this price.

 
He went undrafted in my 10 team league.

I scooped him up before the reduction to 4 games.

I have Romo and Cutler. Not 100% on Cutler, so Ben is my insurance at backup.

Probably trade Cutler if he has a few good games in a row.

 
I got him in the 10th round after I took Ryan in the 8th. I felt that I probably could have waited another round for Big Ben, but with Ryan as my QB1 I felt that I needed to secure another upside QB pretty quickly.

Same here. Took Eli in the 9th round and didn't want to take a chance on losing Ben beyond the 10th.Worked out for me because an owner who was 2 picks behind me groaned and said he was picking Ben next if he was there.

Don't hesitate to take Big Ben. Championships are won in week 16 not week 3 or 4. Try and get by with a guy like Eli Manning or Brett Favre until he comes back. Big Ben in the 10th is a shark play.

The only problem is Favre's bye is week 4. I was planning on doing exactly that until I noticed I'd have no QB week 4 :goodposting:
 
In a keeper league where 10 QBs were kept, got him after 15 QBs were gone (keepers and draft). I didn't keep a QB so I took Eli and Ben back to back at the turn of the 5th-6th rounds. Because of the number of keepers that means almost 160 players had gone before I picked him up.

 
took him at 9.02 in a 10 teamer, an prolly coulda waited, judging by a few comments from other owners.

i thought there might be other owners thinking the same thing i was, so i pulled the trigger.

i've got him backing up Rivers, and he could obviously be my weekly starter after the 4th week.

roeth could really be solid value this year. time will tell.

 
Drafted him 10.11 in a 12-team league to back up Kolb, taken 6.11. Dude with the next pick said he was going to take him if I hadn't.

 
He fell to me in a 12 teamer in the 11th round and paired him with Eli.

More importantly... I just finished my big league draft... 14 teams... 6 pt Pass TDs....

I was targeting him big time and reached at 8.09.... paired him with Favre.... so even though I waited on QBs I have 2 touchdown machines in a TD heavy league.... week 4 I needed a QB so I grabbed Hasselbeck very late who plays inside @ St. Louis that week..... Like I said... I'm very happy with that situation in this league.

I draft tomorrow night in my 12 teams 6 point passing TD league, and while my league-mates are all grabbing QBs waaaaay too early, I am targeting a Roethlisberger/Stafford combo. Will have to reach a bit to ensure I get them both, so I expect to grab Ben in the 8th and Stafford in the 9th.

Not sure I'd consider Roethlisberger a TD machine.
 
12 Team 4 Player Keeper.... 14 round draft

I got Ben as my QB2 (to Matt Ryan) at 8.04 (equiv to 12.04)

Since announced suspension reduced to 4 games, I have received 2 trade offers.

How is Big Ben at the back of the 11th a reach? He is an sure-fire top 5 - 8 qb, who is not injured, but will miss the first four games. Who are you going to pick in the 8th to 12th rounds that will serve your team better? Jets D or maybe Mason Crosby? Anyone who doesn't have their eye on him once the 9th round hits doesn't like winning.
 
16th rd of a 24 rd start 2 QB league (also start 5 IDP's)...I think many forgot about him. We drafted before Favre made his announcement too...got him in the 9th...

this was a draft yesterday... now that people know its only 4 games, his ADP is going up

It's worth noting when your draft was held.. was it this weekend after his suspension was reduced to 4 games? Was it in the middle of summer when it was still possibly 6 games?
 
What I love about Big Ben is that if your championship week is week 16 he's got Carolina at home in that spot, and the Steelers have a history of putting up a lot of points against the Panthers. It's the type of matchup that could seal a championship. I was targeting him in the draft but got beat to the punch by someone. Thinking about working a trade soon.

 
In our 12 team draft yesterday he was the last pick in the 9th round. This was just before the suspension got reduced.

What is Big Ben's schedule in weeks 14-16?
 
we only have 4 pts per passing td, so I always wait on a QB. Stafford in round 9, Ben in rd 10. 12 teams. Not sexy qb's, but good enough imo. I got to load up on other spots.

 
12 team redraft on 9/2 before suspension was reduced

Roth 11.11 - 17th QB taken

Backing up MRyan 9.11 - 14th QB taken. These could be a bit skewed because everyone but me had a starting QB the time my 5.11/6.02 picks came, so I just waited until people started taking backups.
