If you knew how good he'd be right now - where would you take Clay (1 Viewer)

Obviously Matthews slid way further down the board than he should have when he came out. Thompson apparently considered him at 9 when he took Raji but opted for the DT. Then he said he couldn't believe he was there as late as he was and made the rare move of trading up to get him. Anyway it panned out, he totally jump started the defense and powered them to the victory over Pittsburgh largely with the big hit/fumble caused on Mendenhall. So if you knew Matthews was going to be All-Pro like he is, where would you slot him in this draft?

I don't see how you can let him slide past number 3. Luck is Luck and despite the hype around RG3, he's the best QB prospect in a long time. RG3 looks to be a premium player at the premium position. So I don't think you can select him over those guys, but then next you have Kalil, and I think I'd rather Matthews.

If we're re-drafting 2009, I think he'd be in the 5-10 range.

Stafford, Orakpo, Raji, Maclin, Harvin, Nicks, Oher, etc... are in the discussion. I could see any of those guys ahead of Matthews depending on the team.

Against unknown quantities, I guess 3 is fine. Anywhere from 3-10 wouldn't shock me.
