If you were to trade Hawk (1 Viewer)

If you were including AJ Hawk in a trade package, which LB would you rather have to replace him? Channing Crowder or Ian Gold. I would rank Gold and Crowder pretty close, and so does the staff. Looking for opinions.

i'd rather have gold. if i'm not mistaken, gold has had only one torn acl while crowder has torn two. that's no joke right there.

In dynasty that would be a terrible deal. In redraft not so bad.
Unless he is packaging Hawk with another player. I wouldn't trade him straight up for either in a re-draft.

I'd want Crowder back. Gold's a middling player, and seems to have reached as high as he ever will. Crowder's unproven, but has a chance to be better than Gold once Thomas retires.

Whether you're in a redraft or keeper/dynasty, I would not trade Hawk for either Crowder or Gold (unless another player/pick upgrade is involved).

Gold > Crowder in redraft leagues, whereas it's a coinflip in keeper/dynasty leagues.

If you are in the redraft league I would ask for Crowder and a first rounder for Hawk and a third rounder in your rookie draft.

I think Crowder has a promising future. In today's NFL many player with ACL injures have been returning back to form.

I'll go out on a limb and assume you're getting a fair bit back with the LB for Hawk. What is the trade? Not to change this from the point of the thread, but inquisitive minds want to know.

I'd take Gold over Crowder, but it depends on your focus. Long term, Crowder will probably be better, but Gold is a good started now and should be for a few years.

(FWIW, I have Gold in one league and would not trade with for Crowder)

 Since when do redrafts have rookie drafts?

just saw this deal go through, so i know the total package.....he landed crowder/archuleta/simeon for hawk/tapp/mccree

Here is the deal I made. It is a dynasty league full of sharks. ;)

Tapp, Darryl SEA DE;Hawk, A.J. GBP LB;McCree, Marlon SDC S for

Rice, Simeon TBB DE;Crowder, Channing MIA LB;Archuleta, Adam WAS S

Defensive scoring, while not extremely high in this league, does score pretty well, so like any IDP league, it is nice to have some top scoring IDP's. Basically I feel like I gave up Hawk for a top DE and S, and also got a LB who will come close to replacing him IMO.

 I personally wouldn't have done this deal, but if you think it's good, you may be right.

Agreed. If I had Hawk, I would be too interested in seeing his first season to make this trade. That doesn't make it a bad trade, yet, or if ever.

I wouldn't either.

Strangely, some do have separate rookie drafts. I've never been in one, though.

I suppose there's all sorts of variations, but this one I don't quite get the purpose of. How many rookies even matter in a redraft? Certainly not enough to warrant an entire seperate draft. Anyway, sorry about the hijack, this is just weird to me.

-- Packers Want Hawk to Lead --

Thu Jul 13, 2006 --from FFMastermind.com

CNN/SI's Don Banks reports the Green Bay Packers want first-round draft pick OLB A.J. Hawk to be an inspirational leader for the defense. Hawk has the size, speed and proven production at Ohio State to be a playmaking machine. Hawk, who can play inside in a 3-4 scheme or outside in a 4-3, will never leave the field due to down and distance.
