Here are some early impressions of Lions DE Ikaika Alama-Francis, from Lions insider Tom Kowalski:

In watching rookie second-round pick Ikaika Alama-Francis in a few one-on-one pass-rushing drills, the defensive end looks very quick. Very raw, but very quick. He has excellent hand speed and he's still learning how to best utlilize his hand placement. I'll stick with my earlier assessment of this guy -- he looks like a young Robert Porcher.

Here is the entire article.

That's the second time Kowalski has given Anthony Cannon props since training camp started. he's definitely on my radar, especially Ernie Sims has a history of concussion problems.

His value in 2007 will obviously take a big hit if Simeon Rice signs with the Lions.
I'm really not counting on much this year, although he will play quite a bit. His value is long term and he has as much upside as anyone in the draft. He doesn't even know how to play yet. He didn't start playing football until his sophomore year in college. He was 220 pounds then, and now is a rock solid 280 and still has room to grow.

I wonder how many times Ikaika Alama-Francis and the word "raw" have been in the same paragraph in the past few months.
Too...many...potential...jokes...
We'll I was trying to set it up on a tee. He definately seems like a guy to watch from all the buzz. Maybe a Simeon signing would be a good thing in the long run. Marinelli has a good history with DE pass rushers and Rice is a DE who could possibly help realize Ikaika's "raw" talent.
