Im Starting Chris Givens over_____ (1 Viewer)

Chris Givens looks to be in for a good week, with Amendola not practicing and Bradford's success @SF in the OT game he should see at least 8-10 targets at home on a fast field

As a Bills fan I know at least Whitner is beatable on a deep ball as well.

Also if you get KR points that raises his floor.

Thinking 6/90 and a TD and around 100 KR yards.

Im starting him with confidence over:

Torrey Smith against PIT

Bowe against CAR

Harvin injured and hopefully sitting this week.

Starting him over Torrey and DX in one league. Debating on whether to drop Amendola for him in another. First round of the playoffs, and waivers lock for the rest of the season on Sunday. Might just wait till then to grab him so no one else can claim Amendola.

Was all in the time he played NE and will be all in again. Starting him over Fitz, Moore, Blackmon, Shorts.

I picked him up becasue of the Shorts injury.

If Shorts can't go its him or Kendal Wright....I leaning towards Givens right now.

Same. Although my flex spot is dicey at RB now that DMC is coming back for Reese. The position scares me. I may just go Givens.

Thinking of starting him against Tampa Mile in my PPR flex, but he's very inconsistent don't know if I dare risk it

Trolling for WR depth, thought about Sanu for a hot minute ... then saw the post about his (Sanu) foot injury

Conversely, Amendola's foot injury made Givens the no-brainer; given the circumstances.

Nice stash for the playoffs, and with Danny A out, he can be a nice surprise thsi week

I'm starting Givens instead of Harvin. In a flex spot over Little, Randle, Gates, Bennett, McCluster, Ballard, Key.Martin, DMurray, Forte.

Starting BBrown as RB2 over Forte. Slotted Forte as Flex 2 due GTD.

I'm out for the playoffs. Battling for 9th place with 10th place team.

Ive got Givens vs Bowe and its really a toss up to me. I remember the week that Givens got in trouble and didnt play was the first SF game and it was said aftwerards that he was to be a big part of the game plan then. Bowe has been terrible since week 4 and plays carolina whose horrible vs the run..... Im giving the kid a shot here hoping for a long one like quick got the week he was out in his place. Not at all sure why FBG has Bowe so high this week given he hasnt gotten as many yards as they are projecting since week 4.

He has got over 11.33 (16.55 avg.) points in the last 6 weeks he's played in my PPR/return yardage league. I'll be starting him over Mike Williams and Jeremy Maclin.

GL to anybody rolling with him. 9ers just don't give long pass plays - 3 over 40 yards all year, 1 in the last 10 weeks. I presume you guys mulling this over are standard scoring. If Broyles is an option in PPR that is an easy call.

Tough this time of year with injuries piling up.

His replacement in the last SF game at SF that Givens was suspended for caught a 36 yd td pass. Amendola caught over 100 yds in passes. Amendola is inactive. Givens should get some of that. Im not saying that SF is an Wr situation but I do think the stars are aligned here for Givens to have at least a decent day. Im not expecting 150 and 2 but it will surprise me if he doesnt get 75 and better than 50/50 shot at a td. Ill take those numbers at wr 3/ flex this late in the year with injuries piling up. Anybody think this is too optomistic??? :boxing:

Ill take 11/92, man he was so close to a monster game.
11/92 is a fine game in a non ppr leage for a wr 3 ( which is all he really should be. In a ppr league it IS a semi-monster game. I left a couple points on the table by starting him over James Jones but if I had to do it all over again I would make the same decision. Looking forward to starting him again next week (hopefully amendola is out again) :P

Started him over Bowe in flex no questions asked. Might need him for playoffs if Shorts concussion is serious. :(

You want Amendola healthy.

Givens strikes me as a guy with a better floor with Amendola out but higher ceiling with him in.

You people are just immense. 20 points in my main PPR league having just claimed him on Friday, and DX already off to a decent start as well from the tip I read here. Visiting this board is almost cheating imo

Eh, I see what you're saying but I think his floor is more dependent on the Ram's offense as a whole. There are days when it's just bad and Bradford isn't getting passes off to anyone. The bottom line is defenses are going to start blanketing Givens when Amendola is out because there isn't anyone else on that offense worth worrying about. Maybe Kendricks will start showing up, he has looked somewhat better the last few weeks.

Great call this week, guys. Congrats to anyone who rolled with him.

Debating between him, Torrey, Broyles, Britt, and Gordon. Tough one
whoa ... imo, easy call w/Broyles >>> all of 'em.
:bag: Let me back away from this thread slowly...

Well, to be fair, BL ... Broyles left after a catch on Detroit's first posession. Yeah, I know "woulda/shoulda/coulda" ... but extenuating circumstances here. Just glad I scooped Givens after reading about Danny " The Boot" Amendola ...

I just thought Givens was a one trick pony and didn't see him fulfilling Amendola's role. I whiffed on this one.

That was very impressive. He didn't hit on a big play downfield like he often has but he stepped into the Amendola role and had an Amendola game. It'll be very interesting to see how they use him when/if Amendola returns but as long as Amendola is out I think Givens is a must start. The matchup next week against Buffalo looks great.
