Indefinite New England Patriots Thread (5 Viewers)

41-13 Pats...Baltimore has no answer for Gronk. I expect the Pats to spread them out and go uptempo for most of the game. Jimmy gets his playoff feet wet with around 8 minutes left in the

4th.
I'm amending my prediction as I think I was being a bit of a homer and not giving enough respect to the Ravens. My revised prediction is 41-16 Pats and Jimmy not getting into the until there is 6 and half minutes left in the fourth.
Thanks god you seen the error of your ways, and you fixed your first post. I am sure everyone in here can now sleep again at night!

I'll admit I thought we were screwed when we went down by 14 in the third quarter. Great resiliency by this team. O-line was great in the second half even after Stork went down. I couldn't be happier for Amendola after watching him play game after game in obscurity . I thought all along he was underutilized.

We dodged a huge bullet here as the Ravens always play us tough. The Ravens defense was a shell of their former selves (and apparently so was ours). The Flacco bomb int. was an absolute gift at the end. I think if they had just been patient and taken what the Pats gave them underneath they probably would have been goal to go at the end. Instead they tried for the P.I. call to Torrey Smith which ultimately was their downfall. Kind of ironic how they have made such a living off that in the past but they went to the well once too many times. The effort by Torrey to break up the INT was pitiful.

We're onto ?

After the way the defense played most of today I fear anyone we have to play.
Again. Lets not give Ravens credit for their offensive success. And NE has no run game. Good luck.
Ok, I'll just discredit everything the Ravens did on offense. It's not like Flacco or the offense has any track record of success in the playoffs. Also were the Ravens not one of the best run defenses in the league this year? What a joke that the Pats beat such a slouch of a Ravens team.

ummm...wasn't directed at you

Two easy observations:

*The short passing game is unstoppable...it plays to Brady's strength and when they stick to it good things happen...

*I have said this over 5,000 times the past seven years or so but the lack of a high-quality pass-rush makes the Pats D vulnerable regardless of who is playing in the secondary...today's quality QBs (which is usually what you play against in the playoffs) are not going to get confused unless they are under duress...if you give them too much time they will hurt you...the Pats have to figure out a way to get more pressure if they are going to go the distance...

Great win yesterday...the Ravens are a real tough match-up for the Pats...to come-back from two 14 point deficits is very impressive...this team is far tougher than the teams of the recent past...I don't think you can look at yesterday's game and predict what you will see next week because whether it's Denver or Indy it will be a totally different match-up both physically and mentally...

I'm wondering where Ayers was yesterday as he's been our best pass rusher? CJ just isn't getting the job done off the edge and there is no penetration up the middle. We need to blitz to put any pressure on the qb. If we don't we're toast, at least sending the extra guy gives us a shot at getting to the QB.

yeah, you saw some blitzing in the 2nd half

remember collins just about scoring that td -- he shot through there like he was fired out of a gun

Noticed Edleman's arms during his interview after the game, he looked cartoonish. If a little guy like him is experimenting I can only wonder how much stuff these bigger players are putting into their body.

loool that's hilarious because on one of the punt returns I said to a buddy of mine, "look at those guns!"

dude puts the work in --- there's no I in burgertyme

Impressive stat from the Ravens game:

Brady 22 for 22 in passes where he released the ball in 2 seconds or less. 209 yards and 3 TDs

In other news, Doug Kyed tweeted that Josh Mcdaniels is expected to stay with NE.

All I can say is, when I like him I love him, and when I hate him I really ####### hate him.

After Saturdays game I'd love to see him come back.

yeah, I like the continuity

you really never know what you'd get with a replacement, although I liked o'brien and have 100% faith in bb and the org

2. A nice little under-the-radar story is how safety Tavon Wilson continues to carve out a niche for himself on defense. The much-maligned 2012 second-round pick was tapped as the fifth defensive back as part of a big nickel package against the 3-WR/1-FB/1-RB grouping and is moving around the field with confidence, with the coaches also entrusting him with back-end responsibilities at times. In addition to the nickel, Wilson also came on in dime and seven-defensive back groupings. It's well within bounds to say he looked better than Ravens 2013 first-round pick Matt Elam, a safety who is developing a reputation as a missed tackle waiting to happen. Bottom line: Don't write off Wilson just yet, especially given some of the struggles other young safeties have had around the NFL.

@MikeReiss

Patriots TE Rob Gronkowski has been selected as the 2014 Pro Football Writers of America Comeback Player of the Year.

Honestly, did anyone else have a chance?
He has been so good I kind of forgot he could even qualify for this type of award...the kid is just a physical (and mental) freak...
