Id rather have Vince back at a team friendly contract than Revis at 3 for 50 and 40 Million guaranteed! As opposed to having Revis back? That is nuts. Vince joins a long line of great Patriot players that the Pats said goodbye to at the absolute right time.Id rather have Vince back at a team friendly contract. That makes you an idiot12punch said:QUITE FRANKLY, I'd rather have vince back
You are okay with paying McCourty top dollar but not Revis?as opposed to having revis back on a ridiculous deal
I hate to say it, but if this is the price for Revis, then enjoy wallowing in the mediocrity that is the NYJ.Id rather have Vince back at a team friendly contract than Revis at 3 for 50 and 40 Million guaranteed! As opposed to having Revis back? yes, they probably pushed the envelope with their offer. They wont counter, its what they have viewed as their available $. Its not the money, um ever. yeah, and I think suh was grossly overpaid, which is why these teams are always chasing the patsI would say they have a two year window to win another title with Brady, retaining Revis should be the top priority and yes it will be a high price because he brings tremendous value to the team. Heck , he is every bit as valuable as Suh.
Suh's contract is 60M guaranteed, Revis has at least comparable value in today's NFL and you would have to lay out 20M less.yeah, and I think suh was grossly overpaid, which is why these teams are always chasingI would say they have a two year window to win

the pats
I'd rather not the pats run their team like miami
I've been hearing about this window for the last 10 yrs
Don't be disobeying Mister Blount, you know what can happen.
of a team.Of all the ####### spots, why do players waste their time.Helu to Raiders, so scratch him off the target list.
Spiller wants more than Vereen, so I doubt it. I think Bush is in play for half the money.Spiller?

give me a couple million --- I might go play for the raidersOf all the ####### spots, why do players waste their time.Helu to Raiders, so scratch him off the target list.
C'mon Pats fans ... when is the last time NE was the highest bidder for any free agent? That's not the Patriot way.Bossman said:Safe to assume that some other team will offer Revis a ridiculous contract that the Patriots will refuse to match?
I can't imagine him turning down an extra couple of mil just to stay in NE.
I'd say he is gone.
Ugh, Mayos garbage compared to Revis. Who cares.C'mon Pats fans ... when is the last time NE was the highest bidder for any free agent? That's not the Patriot way.Heck, I wonder if Brady would still be on the team if he didn't play for the hometown discount.Bossman said:Safe to assume that some other team will offer Revis a ridiculous contract that the Patriots will refuse to match?

Silver lining ....this means that they WILL retain Mayo which is HUGE.
.... and I'm thinking they take a CB at the end of round 1.
Pats should have matched that.Jason Cole @JasonPhilCole 1m1 minute ago
@Revis24 signs for 5-year, $70M deal. Includes $39M FULLY guaranteed, $33M in the first two years. #Jets

No one is a bigger fan of Revis than me but that is waaay too much money for the Pats to spend on him. Thanks to him for the help getting #4.Pats should have matched that.Jason Cole @JasonPhilCole 1m1 minute ago

5/70 is a bogus number. It's basically a 3 year deal with 33 the first two years and 6 if you wanna dump him the 3rd. It's a 3 year 48 million dollar contract. No one is a bigger fan of Revis than me but that is waaay too much money for the Pats to spend on him. None of this is unexpected, it would have been sweet to keep Revis, but he has always been about the money and it was unlikely NE could keep him. Wilfork is\was done afaic, I'm not sure what people saw in him last year that makes them think he is going to be hard to replace on the field (locker room might be a different story). Not a Browner fan, one trick (jam at the line) pony and he just isn't all that good imho. The only obvious one left now is Mayo and as soon as he is healthy he is either going to have to restructure or he is gone (he is way over paid). Mcourty isn't great, but he is decent and will help provide stability.IMHO,
Unless, Wilfork and Mayo are willing to accept bottom of the barrel deals I think they are gone and if they keep Revis and Mcourty it wouldn't shock me to see Browner let go. I think they really want to keep Revis, and there is a good chance they will; however, if I had to bet on it, when push comes to shove I bet he is more interested in money than winning and sadly they won't be able to match what other teams will offer.
