Looks like Campbell and Wilson avoided a worst-case scenario...info is still dripping out but it looks like Wilson has a high ankle sprain and will miss multiple games and Campbell seems to have a MCL sprain and is a potential candidate to miss 4 games on IR but hopefully be ready for the playoffs...it would have been a huge blow if he had an ACL and had to deal with that recovery so I think we will all take this news if it is confirmed...Pats were lucky the first half of the year with injuries but the injury bug has definitely reared its ugly head...depth was probably the biggest concern with this team going into the year and it will most certainly be tested...if they can survive this week at home against the Giants they would be 11-2 going into a bye week they will certainly need with Buffalo and Baltimore up next...yesterday was a big one...wasn't pretty but they figured it out which seems to be kind of a trademark for this team.
Yeah hoping that Maye can run out of trouble next week with these injuries. I'm sure McDaniel's will put together a solid game plan.

NYGs are spunky that's for sure. And NE is sooooo overdue for a bad loss.
Bowen did well in Tennessee and well regarded in Houston.
The Giants have incredible assets to get after the QB but those guys always have their ears pinned back and can't stop the run.
I really strongly question the DL coach.

Obviously their big problem will try to be tended to by the new DC but I've always understood that as something ya drill out of them w repetition.

I think the Pats gotta have Maye moving a lot and extra ready to throw it away but otherwise Treyveon could have a day and a half.

McDaniels probably has some looks some way of baiting them.

I'm even debating playing Rhamondre.

On the other side, I hope Gonzalez covers the Giants top WR. It's been weird for me and FF seeing Wandale get some second fiddle guy and light it up

The Pittsburgh loss was as bad as it gets and hopefully they met their quota with that stinker. I’m not scared of any of the teams left on the schedule, but it wouldn’t surprise me if the Giants made things competitive on Monday night. Dart might be slippery enough of a QB to be a hassle for the defense to deal with.

Vrabel is just getting it done this year...Pats were so lucky to get him after the Mayo disaster:

*So impressed that Vrabel has them ready to go every week...I think every Pats fan has thought "this is the trap game" for about 4 or 5 weeks but he has them so dialed in they haven't stumbled.

*On that note...there is no doubt Vrabel knew what he was doing replacing all the Captains from last year...he has stressed culture from day 1 and the results speak for themself.

*I am sure none of us are surprised to see Diggs as a leader after he almost got run out of town after the "pink cocaine" incident...love the fact he seems very comfortable whether he gets 3 targets or 12 targets...that was not his MO in years past.

*Overall the WR unit has exceeded expectations 10 times over...Diggs is Diggs...Boutte is turning into a very good player...Hollins is the cagey vet...Pop seems to finally have found his role and it looks like Williams has a chance to be a good one.

*I think last night is the best example of how Vrabel wants to play D...fast, aggressive and swarming to the ball...as a fan it is great to watch that type of D.

*Another shout out to Vrabel (and the front office) is what they did at Safety...they moved on from both Peppers and Duggar and committed in camp to Hawkins and Woodson...Hawkins has been very good and Woodson has the makings of someone who is going to start for them for a long time.

*The Woodson draft pick doesn't get the love it should...after Day 2 the Pats had the fourth pick in round 4...there were a lot of big names still on the board and I am sure they got some trade offers as well...with a full night to sit on it they drafted the Safety out of Cal and most fans were like "who?"...the kid has made an impact since the beginning of camp...love that they ID'd him and had the faith to move on from some veterans and start him from game 1.

*He missed one last night but starting to have some faith in Borregales...gotta believe he is going to have the opportunity for some big kicks be it against Buffalo, Baltimore or in the playoffs.

*Having Josh McDaniels as the OC is such an asset.

*Marcus Jones has turned into an impact player.

*Drake Maye is elite.

Time to enjoy the bye week and lie to ourselves that everything will be perfect the rest of the way...home against Buffalo and at Baltimore is gonna be very interesting...the Pats won't be surprising anyone the rest of the season.

I believe you mean Woodson rather than Newsome but yeah, he was considered a reach for the pick he went but he's been a solid immediately contributor to the secondary. There was a graphic shown where among the 4 teams with the most plays by rookies, the Pats were 2nd, and they were the only good team (the others were the Browns, Jets and Titans).

100%...not sure where I was headed with that...overall between the draft and free agency Vrabel and company nailed it this past offseason...far more than anyone could have hoped for...two years ago the Pats were a team that free agents had zero interest in...hell, this offseason there were players like Godwin and DKM that turned them down (thankfully...they caught a break there)...gotta believe that won't be the case going forward with Vrabel and Maye steering the ship...I still can't believe how quickly this got turned around as the last two years of BB and the lost Mayo year were just black holes.

For those hoping NE goes out and has another free agent spending spree like this offseason, I don't think that will happen. I would guess they will carry over the $50M in cap money to extend Gonzalez and Maye to huge deals (as they should). But that would eat up almost all their cap surplus and amost of their available cap space. They likely won't be able to do that and bring in a stud free agent WR. But maybe they can get creative.

Gonzo will get a fat contract but Maye isn’t eligible for an extension until after next season…I believe the core guys that are FA’s after this season are Hawkins, Tonga, Chaisson and Hooper…they are all key contributors but I don’t think any of them will break the bank if they want them back…Boutte is a guy I would like to see them take care of sooner rather than later…his price is only going to go up as he gets closer to free agency after next season…and it could go up in a pretty big way if he keeps improving like he has been…not sure the exact numbers of his deal but if there are legit savings I bet they will move on from Onwenu…he is definitely not worth his contract.
