And we even get 2 Playoff level teams to cap the Christmas Night.

We had a beer tasting last night of every Christmas beer we could get our hands on, a lot of them either never made it to the shelves or sold out fast but one of the big winners was ironically Monk in the Trunk's "Father Christmas" and it's brewed in Boca Raton, FL and if you get a chance it's outstanding.

We had a couple of crazy beers that were more like barley wines. "Snowed In" which was motor oil in a pretty gold and pink edition can. And finally a huge nod to Prairie Artisan out of OKC which released "Christmas Bomb" and I seemed to like that more than some of the other family members.

Harpoon was delicious and I still love me some Accumulation, this year's by Fat Tire was outstanding.

What are you drinking today/last night? Post it up when you give your take on this game, I'm not quite ready to project a score here.

Go!

Had some spiked coffee this morning, whatever was on the counter,a little of this a little of that, worked quite well. As for the game. I use no analytics but have a very bad feeling for Arizona, and I'll qualify that by saying I like Kyler Murray and would like to see them make a nice run in the postseason. But. Arizona's offense looks a bit off kilter without Hopkins, their defense which was mostly good this year can be very giving at times. I think The Colts are better than their record. Very nice defense and they can control the tempo of a game with Taylor and the ground game. If Wentz doesn't play Santa Clause and give The Cards  too turnover presents I think.....

         Colts- 34

         Cards- 24

I think Arizona bounces back from their recent poor effort. Colts are a really dangerous team. This is 1 of the many potential super bowl matchups, although certainly an unlikely one.

AZ wins 27-24.

That's the way I'm seeing it. Indy has been winning on Taylor's legs and Arizona has been struggling since Murray has come back. I see them getting right at home though. They focus on stopping Taylor and Murray gets back to form.

Cardinals 38 Colts 29

Leonard getting scrapped is like LT being out for the ol' Giants.  Or Minister of Defense being pulled from the broccoli section in Whole Foods.  You just can't replace it.

I got down at -2 1/2, thank the lord above.  I only wish I could've got more than a nickel on it, but i'm capped.  It's already 3 at every shop.  Hell, Nelson and Pascal also missing doesn't hurt, either.

We could still lose of course but damn, that's a a pretty big one (line quickly moving to a key number proves as much).

*** Speaking of which, I have a college (COVID) thread in the FFA for teams missing players during this Covid protocol nightmare.  Please contribute, if you do not mind helping a bunch of degenerate FBGs out over the holidays.  There clearly will be breaking news, unlike any other year, that could really help.  Or at a minimum, SAVE US FROM OURSELVES! ***

🍻  Merry Christmas! 🎄

@Ministry of Pain I have lived in Boca Raton for 35 years, I’ve had plenty of beers from Barrel of Monks, but never had a Father Christmas. Will have to give it a try. I’m currently enjoying a Neon Beer Hug from Goose Island in my tiki hut while watching the game, the beer was BOGO at Publix this week.

Arizona is going to get rocked tonight

I'm going to go with the hot hand of Indy and they are now getting 3 with James Connor Inactive tonight, like the Colts chances.

Indy 27...Arizona 20

On a side note 24-22 Green Bay but the Browns covered and the Under comes in by half a point...

-No Hopkins, No Connor, Kyler Murray is going to have problems. Ertz to the rescue?

Colts might not lose another game until the 2022 Season kicks off...

They can just smash you all the way back to your end zone. This is a tough team that has gotten better as the season rolls along. Wentz took the Eagles to the Super Bowl or was a part of it and even has a ring already, look out because the Indianapolis Colts are for real.

I'm with Grove Diesel. I have no idea why these guys insist on bringing back kicks that would otherwise be touchbacks. They're starting on the ten. That's fifteen net yards lost.

Terrible.

Don't see it. When was the last time a team won the Super Bowl on the strength of their running game? (Yes, Pats won their last SB with Michel having a good game, but they also had the GOAT at QB).

I don't see the Colts winning the SB, either, especially if Derrick Henry comes back healthy.

If Henry is truly healthy, the Titans are the best team in the AFC and will join the Chiefs in the AFC Title Game, IMO.

I think it'd be an upset if the Colts won this game frankly.

Wentz is just a big problem, he can sink them in any given week, especially if they can't control the game and get behind early. I think the Colts are a 1 and done team.

I think the darkhorse team nobody is really talking about is Cincinnati. I think their best is better than anyone else's best, its just a matter of if they are too young, and if Zac Taylor doesn't get outcoached.

I'm not feeling KC for whatever reason. Despite the results of last week's game, I think the Chargers are the AFC West's best team, especially if they have Ekeler and James.

ETA: I agree the Titans are a favorite, though I do think Henry is slightly overrated. AJ Brown's return was more important than Henry's is in my opinion. I also think Ryan Tannehill might be the NFL's most underrated player.

Agreed. As good as they look at times, it is just very very difficult to make it to/win the Super Bowl without an elite QB.

:goodposting:  Was thinking they got a gift tonight with the Browns losing. They’ve been flying under the radar most weeks this season imo.

Yeah, that's fair. Interesting you have Cincinnati so high. I have them about dead last of all the playoff qualifiers in the AFC.

I've got it thusly:

Tennessee
KC
Los Angeles
Buffalo
New England
Indy
Cincinnati

I can see where people think KC is overrated, though.

Money Badger just isn't that great of a kicker, really. Nice nickname and self-promotion, not so great of a kicker.

I think Cinci is kind of the AFC's Dallas, in that they have laid a few eggs this year, but when they are on, they can win in every aspect of the game.  I like them a little more than Dallas though, as I view the NFC as tougher, and despite the current injury woes, I think Tampa is still the team to beat in the NFC. Where as, I think the AFC is wide open.

I think Indy is the worst team on your list. I'd like to be higher on Buffalo, but they seem to be the reverse Green Bay, where they have a ton of impressive wins, but lose all the close ones, where as Green Bay, tends to win all the close ones, even if they are rarely impressive doing so.

The Wentz section of my post was pretty sarcastic when you factor in I'm crediting him with the Eagles SB season, tongue in cheek as they say

Let's not bury Taylor yet. I'm facing him, and still plenty worried about a huge score against. The first quarter is barely done.
Best guard in football I’m not trying to bury him.  His ceiling games aren’t there.  RBs are only as good as their offensive line when Zeke was unstoppable.

Taylor doesn’t have a safe PPR floor because he doesn’t catch the ball.

Before Derrick Henry went insane he would leave you with a bunch of 67-0 games.  Taylor is due without Nelson, short week and road game.  Missing some pieces.  Still a stud just not a big game.

Good for you though. Off to a great start.

I can see that. I was still editing when I posted, and edited some more. I've got Indy sixth, right about Cinci.

I'm only using current playoff qualifiers right now.

Wow. No cactch.

Good challenge flag, bad call on fourth and one. A wheel route with your TE. Gotta wonder about that one.

Coming off a Jones fracture, I'd be very surprised to see Henry come back fully healthy. I certainly don't expect him to have the kinds of workload he was seeing before the injury.

The problem with building your offense around a RB is that eventually you find yourself in a game where your QB has to dig you out of a hole or lead a key late-game drive. It's one thing if you have an aging HOFer like Elway or Peyton, who can muster their former greatness. It's another to have a Tannehill or (especially) a Wentz. You just don't want your season coming down to guys like that.

I take your overall point, and I agree, but there are gradations to consider. I think that Tannehill is far beyond Wentz territory. He's had some very good years with Henry as a threat since he got away from Adam Gase (and that is a huge thing) and I'm not sure he's comparable to Wentz, who I'm not sure has ever had a good full year.
