Injured Players From 2009: Thoughts for 2010 (1 Viewer)

There seemed to be so many that I am sure I left out several big names.

I am the most confident about Tim Hudson. Atlanta dealt away a workhorse in Vasquez. I don't think they do that unless they are certain that Hudson is fully recovered.

I am lukewarm on Sizemore. He is a guy that I will watch intently during ST.

Josh Hamilton is a guy that I am going nowhere near. His 2008 season was a great story (his HR Derby performance was epic) but he did so much damage to his body in his youth that I believe he will always suffer from all sorts of lingering injuries.

I am targeting Hamilton if he falls. The OF position gets really weak in the mid-rounds. Hamilton is capable of putting up first rd numbers in that ballpark. To me he is well worth the risk.

Also high on Bruce.

Depending on how he looks in spring, I could see myself jumping on the Sheets bandwagon.

Pitching in that ballpark could be great for his ERA / WHIP

Depends on the depth of my league. Shallow leagues, in which he can be easily replaced, he's worth it, but deeper ones I don't think he's worth the risk.At Jay Bruce's pricetag I'm not too interested, I figured after a bad and injury riddled 2009 he'd come at a semi discount but I was wrong. So far he has struggled stealing bases, has a swing for the fences every time mentality at the plate, and can't hit lefties.Sizemore's going to be a late 1st rounder again in 2011.I usually fiend on pitcher's coming off injuries (Harden 2 years ago, Carpenter last year), I thought this year would be Webb but he's still recovering and isn't at the discount I suspected he would. So far Slowey and Cliff Lee have found their way onto my roster(s). I have my eyes on Harang and Hudson in the coming rounds (in the 20's of a slow draft right now). I just missed on Marcum, Sheets, and Harden. Late I'll be watching the Duch and Bondo. Those guys coming off shoulder surgery (Meche, Bedard, Young, Lilly) will be ones to consider adding early-mid summer, but I'm more interested in them in 2011. I'm looking at them similarly as I did Hudson this time last year.

A sneaky, mini-injury bounceback is Evan Longoria, who was hobbled for a couple months with a hammy, I believe.

Wow...I really disagree with that. Unless you're using "mid-rounds" different than I would, I see plenty of good OF available anywhere from pick 50-150.
