Interesting stat (1 Viewer)

The Patriots were arguably the first team to win a super bowl without racking up huge rushing yards - in 2003. That year they won the super bowl with Mike Cloud leading the team with 5 rushing TDs in a mop-up role. Antowain Smith led the team with 642 yards rushing.

So no, the team doesn't need a running to win a super bowl. They've proven that one.

I think people can sometimes fool themselves w/stats and trends.

for example, how many of those in the sample played on teams w/league leading defenses?

how many played after polian cried about the wr's?

it could be, but usually people look to stats for some predictive quality.

if they hadn't started calling pass interference on wr's I think it might be more interesting, but that particular stat may be a thing of the past, now, just as these passing records might fall a little more frequently than every 20 years.

the game changes.

edit: stats that interest me usually have some underlying truth to them.
