IR rules in your league (1 Viewer)

Thinking of adding this option, but interested in finding out how people have it implemented in your leagues. I am thinking it would be for Doubtful or Out players on the official NFL report on Friday, but do others use another source?

That's exactly how we do it as well. We limit IR spots to only 4 players. We've had issues with people putting players on IR that shouldn't be in the past and this has helped us limit it. Not the best solution, but it has worked.

We have PUP and IR slots. When a major media source is reporting a players is out for 2+ weeks you can put a player on PUP. Once the player sees time on the field, you have until the following Sat. to activate him or drop him. The IR is used only for players who have actually been placed on the NFL IR.

this is the wrong way to do it. it will allow people to abuse the system, purposefully or not. it should be for players that are actually on IR & for nothing else. & i am speaking from a dynasty aspect. in a redraft, i say don't have it.

unlimited spotsplayer must be on the NFL IRcant pick up a player off waivers already on the IR and IR him on your team
Follow up question, what do you do after the season is over? Do you have to return to normal roster size and remove the IR players? Also interested in adding this to my dynasty league.

We actually decided to get rid of the IR this year. We had a Keep 7/IDP league with 37 player active roster and a 5 player Taxi (development) Squad. We also limit waivers to 4 per week, however, if you have a player go on IR for the year, you can get an extra waiver to replace the player. The idea was so that you could keep the rights to a player (i.e.- Tom Brady)that was done for the season without losing a roster spot. We decided instead to expand the Taxi Squad by two and do away with the extra waiver pick.

I agree. One of my leagues has an option of allowing players ruled "OUT"to be placed on IR. And anyone placed on IR cannot be takenoff IR for at least 60 days.I think it's ridiculous.Keep it simple. I recommend allowing only players on NFL IR to be on FF IR.

I know this was directed to FP, but in ours you have one week after the championship game.

As the commish I got tired of policing rosters week after week. I ended up just increasing the roster size by 1 for everyone and having done with it.
