Anyone care to break down there Victory Points System, and or what they feel would be a very good Victory Points System?

(obviously quite a few variations on the points awarded can exist)

This would be the 1 I'd lean in a 12 team league I think..

Wins – 8 VP
Ties – 4 VP
Losses – 0 VP
12 VP for highest total points scored
11 VP for second highest total points scored
10 VP for third highest total points scored
9 VP for fourth highest total points scored
8 VP for fifth highest total points scored
7 VP for sixth highest total points scored
6 VP for seventh highest total points scored
5 VP for eighth highest total points scored
4 VP for ninth highest total points scored
3 VP for tenth highest total points scored
2 VP for eleventh highest total points scored
1 VP for lowest total points scored

That looks about right. The nice thing is you can set the ratio however you want. If you think HTH is worth more (or less) in relation to all-play then adjust accordingly. I like this idea very much but don't know which free sites do it (someone asked in another thread).

We have 2 points for winning the H2H matchup and then the top 4 scoring teams get 2 VP, the middle 4 teams get 1 and the bottom 4 get 0.

I would do it:

1. 6 playoff teams

2. Teams with the best 4 records make the playoffs.

3. 5th playoff spot goes to the team that scored the most points for the entire season and didn't win one of the first 4 playoff spots.

4. 6th playoff spot goes to the team that scores the most points in week 13 and didn't win one of the first 5 spots. Gives everyone something to play for at the very end.
