Is Gore dropping to 6 in your leagues (1 Viewer)

16 team dynasty startup w/PPR he went 4th. The draft was 5 days ago.

1. LT

2. SJ

3. Bush

4. Gore

5. LJ

6. Rudi

7. Maroney

8. Addai

9. Peterson

i have the same feeling about Gore that I had about Alexander last year. I too k Laexander anyway at #3 and he got hurt. I will not be taking Gore. I just don't believe he will stay healthy and/or continue the success in that questionable SF offense.

I would say that with the upgrades they should have on their offense this year: addition of D Jackson, emergence of Battle, Davis now healthy, A. Smith continuing to improve, I think there is some upside that makes them not nearly as questionable as last year. Gore's health could be an issue, but the hand really shouldn't be too much of a concern, and IIRC, his other injuries were quite a while back in his playing career (2003 was his last surgery I believe, and the last time he missed significant time). My question is, if he is available at 6, who are you picking over Gore?

 I feel that SF is improving their offense. They upgraded from Antonio Bryant to Darrell Jackson and Ashley Lelie. Their offensive line is still solid, and Gore is more experienced now. I'm sure that after the ran some his rookie year and averaged 4.8 yds per carry, that he'd have a rough time taking on a full 16 game workload. What did he do you ask? More then doubled his carries (127 in 05' to 312 in 06') and averaged 5.4 yds per carry. Alex Smith is improving daily and will hopefully build a rapport with new wideot DJax. I don't see why he should slip out of the top-5 rbs.

We draft in a week, but right now, rumor has him slipping to 8th, behind:

LT

SJ

LJ

Alexander

Addai

Maroney

Manning

I'm trying to trade up to 8 from 11 as we speak.

FWP not even making the top 9? Any openings
I know I was shocked to grab FWP at 11! I couldnt beleive he slid that far. Thing is, this league has FF owners that have been in leagues 10+ years. Great group of owners.I don't know if people are thinking he is a fluke or is going to have a down year or what. This is a very deep (42 roster spots) league with contracts and a salry cap with most (if not all) of the owners being very experienced.

672 players drafted?

You got it.

My redraft from Wednesday night:

1. LT

2. Jackson

3. Alexander

4. LJ

5. FWP

6. Rudi

7. Westbrook

8. Addai

9. Gore

10. Henry

11. Maroney

12. Bush

Once the 6th pick was announced, I began to get giddy at the thought that Gore might fall down to me at 11. It was a fleeting yet fantastic high.

(snagged Peyton in the 2nd)

yes, i think he is a fluke (a la Barlow). and if the offense does improve, that will mean the ball actually goes to other guys more often, not Gore so much... if he does it again this year, then I'll be a believer, but I'm just waiting for another knee injury or something...

12 team redraft last night, no ppr:

1. LT

2. S Jackson

3. GORE

4. LJ

5. Addai

6. SA

7. Westbrook

8. Manning

9. W Parker

10. R Bush

Mix of solid owners w/ few guppies.

I was in 2 hole and was very happy to get T Henry in the 2nd. Also got A Peterson in the 5th??? No idea how that happened. Not a straight serp order--it was around 5.4 or 5.5. Kept thinking he must have gotten hurt for everyone to leave him out there that long.

Drafted last Sunday (8/19)

1. LaDainian Tomlinson

2. Larry Johnson

3. Steven Jackson

4. Reggie Bush !!!!!

5. Peyton Manning !!

6. Shaun Alexander

7. Willie Parker

8. Joseph Addai

9. Frank Gore (Your humble UH!!!)

If Gore doesnt get hurt, these teams picking him at 9 are going to have a pretty nice advantage on the rest of the league. I know there are concerns but I dont see how a guy rushes for 1600 yards, they announce he will now get goaline carries, and still does not go in at least the top 6. Not to mention the receiving threat he is and his offense should be improved.

You do realize that as a rookie with only 127 carries he had over 600 yds rushing and 3 tds as a backup. So as a rookie he averaged right at 5 yds per carry. I bet you were the type that doubted he could do that again, and especially if he ran the ball 300+ times huh. 313 carries later he's sporting a hefty 5.4 yds per carry. This year with talent coming in to open more running lanes, he should AT LEAST put up similiar to identical numbers this year. Goal line carries like someone indicated earlier will be the only difference i see this year.

willing to bypass on this one, there are other fish in the sea, for this owner who has been bitten twice before on similar players...

20 team, PPR, start 3 RBs:

1. LaDainian Tomlinson

2. Steven Jackson

3. Larry Johnson

4. Joseph Addai

5. Travis Henry

6. Shaun Alexander

7. Peyton Manning

8. Brian Westbrook (My pick)

9. Frank Gore

10. Reggie Bush

11. Willie Parker

12. Rudi Johnson

I hadn't even prepared for Gore dropping that far, so since Plan A was still there at my pick, I didn't do anything differently. But that 9th team got a gift, for sure.

So did the 10th in a PPR league. All 3 of you 8-10 made out great IMO.

I had Parker fall to 9th, and Gore fall to 11th in one league. . . . .LJ went 3rd here. . . .

But my next league, I took Parker at 4, and Gore went at 6. . . .LJ went 5th and Addai went THIRD!!!!!

With as many questions as there are with the #3rb - #10rb, its possible to see any order.

Gore at 11 is a steal though  , lucky *******

Went 8th in the slow draft I am in.

I pick 9th, and was licking my chops. Took Westbrook instead. We are in the 5th round and I have shaken my head many times, first draft in this league.

I was hoping he would fall to me at 1.06, but he went 3rd.

LT

SJ

GORE

LJ

Westbrook

Parker

SA

Henry

Manning

Addai

.5 PPR for RB 5pt passing TD

I got him 8th today. I never even considered the possibility that he would make it that far. The 7 before him:

LT

Jackson

LJ

Manning

Alexander

Addai

Westbrook <--This guy apparently had Gore in a couple of other leagues and didn't want to load up on him too heavily.

I'm drafting #3 and have been a Gore guy for a while. Not touching LJ.

But after watching Indianapolis tonight, I"m starting to think long and hard about Joseph Addai ... at #3.

That guy is going to touch the ball all over the place - rushing and receiving - and just looked flat unstoppable.

Damn you Addai. You've just made my decision that much harder.

Addai over Gore?

14 team redraft ppr

1. LJ

2. LT

3. SJax

4. J Addai

5. B Westbrook

6. Gore....

7. S Alexander

8. R Johnson

9. Maroney

10. T Henry

11. W Parker

12. Peyton Manning

13. McGahee

14. R Brown

I've done seven or 8 WCOFF Satellite's so far and have yet to land him.

I've drafted 1, 3, 6, 6, 6, 8, 8 & 8. Drafting third I took Gore and each time I drafted 6th Addai went #3 overall. I thought I'd have a shot at least once, heck I even got Gore at #6 once. He's one of those guys that I say to myself, "I've got to get him on at least one team." But for some strange reason it isn't happening.
