Shark Pool Home League #4 (FBG Home Leagues) (2 Viewers)

Hey all apologies for the delay! Have had graduation events all day for my sister.

We still need @Ministry of Pain to join the league on Sleeper and then we will be 12/12 in there
What am I missing?
I paid, i have my Sleeper Apps open, was an invite sent to me?

Once you paid, you should have received an email receipt. The invite to the Sleeper league was in there, click on that and you'll claim the final team.

@Hot Sauce Guy
We got the same combo at the 1/2 turn
Really?

Damn. I knew I was doomed.
I just copied what you did. That way I can blame you if they suck.
I really should have gone BTJ+London

It’s tricky at 12. In 1 QB format RB falls off a cliff pretty quickly. I’ve preferred the mocks from 12 where I went RB/WR. Gave me a bit more flexibility.

But I really wanted London this year somewhere.

I hated all my WR/WR mocks from the 12 spot. I was sure I was going RB/RB or RB/WR. WR/WR was never an option.

Yeah but you know you wanted to.

I had the exact same experience. Interesting. Great minds think alike. So do not-so-great minds. We will find out soon enough which we are. :hifive:
Yup, I liked starting RB/WR, then snagging RB Bucky Irving and WR Ladd McConkey at the 3/4 turn. Seems like a great beginning.

Except Bucky went 2.02 & Ladd 2.09 in league 4
Well, dag nabbit! These mocks aren't useful at all.
Bucky and Ladd at the 3/4 turn?!?! Dude, you accidentally had your mock set to “6 team league”
On the plus side, in exactly none of the mocks I did were CMC or Henry taken before 12.

You could be right. I found some salty watermelon flavored whiskey for the big draft tonight, and it tastes awesome

That's what you get for mocking with yourself. Y'know, one of these days you're going to go fantasy blind.

Same here, never had a chance to think about CMC in both leagues I entered, same draft spot, 11th

-Got lucky when Henry fell to me in League 3

The hair on my palms does make it harder to make picks.

1.11 WR- Nico Collins, kind of a coin flip here between Nico, BT and even AJB, overlooked Jeanty and might regret that but want to see him play on someone else's team first
I'm sure HSG is thankful on the turn, he snapped him up with the next pick

2.02 RB- Bucky Irving, Not gonna be there when I pick again, was taking the majority of snaps down the stretch, room to improve on last season
He wasn't the full blown starter until almost halfway, took him in League 3 at the same exact draft spot.

3.11 WR-Terry McLaurin, seemed like a good fit in the moment. This was going to be a more balanced approach than what I started attacking in League 3.
I also did not want too many of the same players across both leagues and I already doubled up on Bucky, only reason we passed on him in League 3.
This paired up nicely with Nico, keeps us flexible for future rounds

4.02 QB- Josh Allen, speaking of value, this was not in the plans but he was there so we took him no questions asked this time.
When he has those bigger games, covers up a lot of mistakes/gaps that can pop up at other spots

Didn't name drop players that have not been picked yet, also didn't go over all of my picks
We haven't finished the 6th round yet so I'll likely wait a couple more turns before I post about anyone else selected
This draft has been even throughout, not huge amounts of risk and when they are, seems reasonable that folks are high...on their projections :gang2:
Cheers!

Dear lord he’s keeping a diary.

I like this post. More owners should do this

Very yes thank you! I actually thought you might go Achane, because had you gone Jeanty it would have led me to go WR/WR.

Ok, for @FarFromHome I’ll do my recap through 6 from the 1.12

1.12 - Jeanty. He was the last “1st round caliber RB” on my board, with a decent tier drop after him. MoP was kind enough to steal Nico from me, so my first pick was sort of a no-brainer. From 12 I’m trying to let the draft come to me and take BPA while trying to be cognizant of tier drops as tie-breakers. It’s not like me to go hero RB, but mocking from the 12, I had my best experiences going WR/RB or RB/RB. I wrestled with 12 because I most commonly saw CMC & Henry as my RB options— while they’re not players I necessarily want, I would have taken one, or both if I had to.

2.01 - went BTJ over Puka & London. I’m a huge fan of BTJ & I think he’s gonna have an even bigger year with Hunter to draw coverage & hopefully better offensive philosophy.

And then I waited. And waited. And waited some more. Days passed. Days turned into weeks. Summer tuned to fall, and then winter.

3.12 - my top 2 targets were George Kittle & Garrett Wilson. They went 3.09 & 3.10, respectively. So I took a chance on MH2. He was a little past ADP, and IMO had the most upside of any receiver left not named Jamo. Also, not that it was the deciding factor, I didn’t want my 1st 3 picks to have the same BYE. I’ve been vocally critical of MH2, but again, went for upside. I don’t mind taking big swings.

4.01 - at this point I was going W/WR here, but the idea of taking Allen or Daniels gave me pause. I hemmed & Hawed, then took another upside receiver in Xavier Worthy.

5.12 - I wasn’t planning on taking a TE earlier than 8-10, I liked Hock at 5.12

6.01 - WR looked like it had a cliff coming & a lot of teams had already taken QB, or gone RB happy early, so I grabbed Rome Odunze. Sleeper ADP is weird & I thought Odunze was an upside value at that point.

And there we are after 6.

QB -
RB - Jeanty
WR - BTJ, MHJ, Worthy, Odunze
TE - Hockenson
D/ST -

Maybe i’ll update after another 6 rounds.
:)

ETA: a fun twist to this draft is the only player on my team I have any shares of is BTJ.
