Is Grant one of those first or second round busts this year or do you think he will start rolling?

There are already two other Grant threads that have started in the past week where there is a few pages of discussion on this very subject. Just search for Grant's name and you will be able to find them.

He's definitely been a bust, whether it stays that way is hard to say. Undoubtedly, he was a overrated based on last year's big numbers, but I think his problems have been a combination of injuries/ineffectiveness along the line, his hammy issue, and the coaches' predictable play calling.

It looks like the hammy has healed, as he's been practicing every day now. His line, at least, recognizes the problem: "We have to block better up front," OT Mark Tauscher said. "I think it's a unit thing, it's not just one guy. Everybody up front needs to play better. Everybody involved, running backs, tight ends, offensive line has to execute better." Link

He gets a soft Atlanta run defense at home this week. If you don't have a better option, I'd give Grant one last chance this week. If he can't get it done, then you bench him for good. This is predicated on Rodgers playing, of course. If Rodgers is out, you have to downgrade all Packers including Grant, because Flynn is nowhere near ready to run this team.

Classic one year wonder.I've seen many busts in my time and Grant fits the bill to a tee.
More like a half year wonder. Many were high on Grant coming into this season, but I was a bit hesitant on him. Him getting into camp late didn't help.

No!

He had a nice 8 game stretch but I'm beginning to believe he benefitted most from having Favre there. Everyone thinks this will be his week to shine but ATL will be stacking the box with Rodgers out. From here it only gets worse with Seattle, Indy, Minn., Tenn. and Chicago being their next 5 opponents.

I think by week 12 you could see Jackson getting a large portion of the carries. GB's stubborness to admit they screwed up (giving Grant that much $$ after only 8 games) will delay them taking him out of the picture but I'm not convinced that Grant is better than Jackson.

My two cents.

Without getting into the whole is he or is he not a one year wonder.Have to clarify a few things. We don't know if Rodgers is out. Or if he will be out more than this week.Screwed up giving him a very incentive laden contract? He did not get that much money.

I just put in for Lumpkin in a deep dynasty. If Grant falters against Atl this week, I expect his carries to start diminishing.

I think Favre leaving is what hurts Grant. Defenses just aren't scared of Aaron Rodgers, I'm sure there is a DB or two on the other team worried about Greg Jennings but that's because of Greg Jennings and not Aaron Rodgers, heck Favre has twice as many TD passes in NY and his wrs are not close to the Packers. This bodes poorly for Grant, in spite of Rodgers the Packers have a nice schedule coming up so if Grant can create on his own he could be ok.

He will have a huge week...bank on it.

Why? Because I play against him.... Want proof?? I played the S.Jax owner last week....seems like i'm a slump breaker.

That and the slow start due to being strung up a bit with his hammy. He could turn it around, but the Packer O-line has been playing less well than it did last year in letting up a lot of pressure on Rodgers. Clifton getting called for holding on several runs isn't helping his case any either.

I keep seeing references to the oline playing better last year, coupled with confusion about it given that personnel haven't changed.

Is there any insight out there on why the oline is under-performing?
