Say your team (A) is trying to beat team (B). You are both in a tight race for the division record with Team C. Is it ethical to try and put out your best lineup to beat your opponent, even though this might result in a loss for him and lessen his chances for taking the division title?

Will answer yours.

I dont really understand what you are saying. It sounds to me like you are asking if you should put your best players in your starting lineup to beat the team you are playing against just to try to beat them.

No, I don't just want to beat him--I want to earn a playoff spot. But, if I put out my best lineup and beat my opponent, then won't his opportunity to get into the playoffs diminish? And, if so, how is this ethical of me to do this?

I believe that it is sarcasm directed at the recent ethical threads on this board.

That is about as ethical as dropping a player from your current redraft roster who was demoted or is "out for the season" and picking up the so-called "best player available" from the waiver wire, even if you will not immediately start him. This prevents other owners from picking this player up. If that's how you want to win, then so be it.

P.S. This move could also be misconstrued as laying down for your brother-in-law's second cousin's roomate, or something like that.
