Is it time to dump Blount? (1 Viewer)

FLY IGGLES FLY

The guy can't even sniff the field once Tampa gets even anywhere near the red zone. Has anyone ever heard any explanation from Raheem Morris as to why he pulls Blount once the Tampa offense gets down to the 25 yard line? It seems to me that's where he he should most valuable to the offense. I thought for sure with Graham out Blount would finally get some red zone action but apparently either I or Raheem Morris is an utter imbecile. WTF gives?

He had 15 touches for 80 yards and you're looking to dump him???

I get 1 pt per 15 yds rushing and 1 pt per 20 yes receiving. He got me 4 pts today. Also I didn't see the whole game, but based on what I saw on NFL Red Zone, it looked like he was benched in favor of Lumpkin for most or all of the 4th quarter.

I'm surprised Morris even let him back on the field after the death stare he gave Blount following the stupid head contact penalty. Dude was piiiiiissed.

:shrug:maybe because of the slap & penalty
NEW ORLEANS — The Buccaneers had barely stopped celebrating Ronde Barber’s interception of Drew Brees when Tampa Bay running back LeGarrette Blount swatted an open hand across the face mask of Saints defensive end Will Smith. The resulting 15-yard penalty pushed the ball back from the New Orleans 21-yard line to the 36, leading to a failed third-and-long that forced Tampa Bay to settle for a field goal.]Untimely mistakes like that proved too costly for Tampa Bay (4-4), which left the Superdome frustrated by a 27-16 loss to New Orleans (6-3) on Sunday.“Those things, we cannot allow to happen,” said Tampa Bay coach Raheem Morris, whose team was penalized nine times for 80 yards. “It’s not good enough to come to the sideline and apologize to your teammates, coaches or whoever. It’s just selfish, undisciplined football.”

Yes I know about the stupid penalty. But Blount has been pulled once Tampa gets inside the 25 yd line ALL SEASON, not just today.

I watched most of the game today and to Morris' credit they were down the whole game and wanted to be more aggressive with their play calling. He looked fine when he was out there but didn't get a lot of love after the personal foul penalty. I would have liked to have seen him in the fourth at least to see if he would be able to capitalize on some dump offs but Lumpkin took most of those opportunities.

I think it would be silly to drop him, especially if you have been holding him for a few weeks since his injury and bye week. At this stage who are you picking up in his place? Ringer? Ivory?

Neither are a better option than a 3 down back who has no real competition.
