It's hard to say that anyone will be.

There's a great group of female rock singers who should have been the next thing... it's probably just a dead genre.

Miley Cyrus has talent and obviously loves music.  She could be a rock singer and have the career of some other rock singers... she'll probably bounce around from genre to genre through her career because she can and seems to love to perform them all and also to surprise people.

Some who could have been the next thing: Dana ***hs, Allison Mosshart, Cristina Scabbia, Joss Stone.

She is a good singer and she has done well for herself, but no. 

I like her more than I should, but if she's the next great female rock singer - we're in trouble.
