Is now the time to move him? (1 Viewer)

Sure, if people in your leage are known to overreact. Heck, you might even get Turner for him if that's the case.

My thinking is try to shore up my weakness at wr 2 slot have foster rice and mathews. shooting for a top ten receiver. I will if I can get that trade to go down. But just more curious as to what you guys would be willing to trade for. Such as the Turner example didn't even occur to me to upgrade running back.

The obvious question is...depends on your roster and what you can get.

In my main league, a 14 teamer, I was strong at RB (start 1 plus a WR/RB flex option) with Gore, Foster, and Forte, plus decent depth in Forsett, Donald Brown, and Ringer. WR is strong too with Roddy/Jennings/Maclin as starters and Gaffney/Clayton on the bench. TE was fine with VDavis. QB was the obvious weak spot with McNabb/Henne. Prior to week 1, the Kolb owner in my league acquired Brady so I made a play for Kolb. He countered with Forte straight up. I thought it was a very fair offer, but thought that it wasn't enough of an upgrade at QB to warrant losing my main RB depth, especially with the questions about Foster. I declined. Started Gore/Foster and Forte stayed on the bench.

Fast forward to yesterday...the Peyton owner just learns Grant is out and he has legit RB issues behind him. Offered Forte and McNabb for Peyton and he took it. I think Forte is in for a bounceback year running the ball, and he will clearly be a big part of that passing offense. But I'm enough of a believer in Foster that I'm willing to miss Forte's ceiling even if Foster ends up as a mid RB2 and no better, and the McNabb - Peyton upgrade is definitely worth it.

Don't sell high just to sell high. Figure out what Forte's ceiling is (I thought maybe RB 6-8 range?) and his odds for reaching that. Weigh that against the upgrade you're getting and determine if you're willing to part with that for the rest of the season.

I would put all your RBs except Rice on the block and see how nice of a WR you can get. Not sure if you can get a top 10 WR for Forte.....definitely for Foster and probably for Mathews.

I just moved Forte. Trade Larry Fitzgerald and Forte for Gore and Ochocinco. I had a lot of depth at WR. I am happy with the trade and Forte's stock boost from 1 game.

I agree about Forte having a good year and after this first game I like what I saw. What worries me about him is that his playoff schedule is no cake walk with Min and the jets week 15 and 16 respectively. Also his next three games worry me Dal GB and, NY. With the ol not helping him with the run game this limits my expectations for him, and thus I believe his value will be hampered severely in an attempt to shore up my wr 2. We play 2 rb 2 wr and a flex. I feel comfortable with mathews rice and foster going forward.

Sounds like you've already made your decision. Trade him now for a good upgrade somewhere else and don't worry if you got optimal value or 90% of it. There's a lot to be said for the peace of mind in knowing who your starters are and not needing to agonize over which guy you'll flex every week, especially when you'll be receiving those extra QB/WR/TE points in the weeks you're leaving Forte on your bench.

I think a lot of people are underestimating what Forte will do this season.
I sure hope so. I own Forte in a league where I also have Gore, Bradshaw, Taylor, Spiller, and Fred Jackson. I'm weak at WR and have tried moving Forte for Jennings, Colston, Fitzgerald, and Wayne this week to no avail.Tough spot for Forte owners; most of us got him in the 5th and have other solid RB options. After seeing Forte's role and burst in week 1, he can't be left on the bench. Another strategy is to move a higher drafted RB (in my case Gore) and hope Forte is for real.
