Is Santonio Holmes still a viable low #2/high #3 WR? (1 Viewer)

With Tomlin's emergence of the double tight end set near the goal-line...along with the fact that Santonio has only 3,6, and 3 targets in respective weeks, is Santonio going to live up to expectations? Roethlisberger's ability to pull WRs and TEs out of his ar$e is ridiculous. Spaeth and Tuman? Gimme a friggin' break.

Is Holmes still a projected 20ish WR this year? I'm hoping for a big week w/ Ward out @ Ari.

Somebody is going to have to keep the game close or beat PIT for Holmes to do anything to big. Can't see him being consistent but he could will definitely throw down a couple monster games.

I'm getting impacient but the Steelers have played with the lead most of the games, so Holmes has not been targeted much. This week with Hines out he should get 7-8 targets.

My philosophy on the Steelers passing game is simple:

Start your Steelers when they play a team with a good offense.

Bench your Steelers when they play a team with a bad offense.

Insightful - did you need a formula for that equation? It actually may be so crazy that it just might work...

The Steelers are a good team. When they play a weak opponent, they get a big lead early early and grind out the clock. Your receivers aren't going to be productive when you're not throwing the football. That's not crazy. It's common sense. Part of the reason Chad Johnson and TJ Houshmandzadeh are so productive is because the Bengals defense is a sieve and every Bengals game becomes a shootout. Put those guys on the Steelers and their performance would be more modest. So like I said, I'd only bank on the Pitt passing game when they're playing a team that can score. More attempts = more FF points.

I know bud, I was being sarcastic. I agree with everything you said. Now all that aside, is Santonio a valuable start w/o Ward @ Ari. Bad team, but perhaps #1 WR targets...

I agree that he's a solid play. Arizona has looked a little better since week one, so the game could be closer than expected.

This was my theory on the New Orleans offense prior to the draft. Luckily Brees was taken before I had the chance to pick him. Oh well, right church, wrong pew.
