One of the most important strides in our country from the past century, according to many, was the push to lift us all up as being the equal and "in it together". The "weaving of the social fabric" was supposedly the thing that would evolve us to see past division as a people.
Now, with each passing day, there is a moving trend to self-segregate and include only people "like me" to be involved in activities "with me" (such as shopping, focus groups, think tanks on campus, protest agendas, etc).
Abraham Lincoln once said "a house divided against itself, cannot stand" and he got his inspiration from the gospel of Mark in the Bible.
Now, in 2020, do these ideals still ring true?
