Is there a healthy cereal that also tastes good? (1 Viewer)

I have been eating a new cereal (when I don't have a raw food smoothie) from Post. It is called Great Grains.

I eat the one with raisins, dates and pecans. It's awesome. Excellent source of fiber as well.

On a side note, when you guys eat a bowl of cereal...how much do you eat?

I would probably do a lot better by limiting my serving but when i make a bowl I do so with the thought that I have to fill the biggest bowl in the house to the brim
Half the box. :bag:

Consumer reports #1 rated cereal for the combination of taste and health is http://www.bobsredmill.com/old-country-style-muesli.html

I can confirm it is good if you soak it in either milk or better yet yogurt overnight to soften it up.

Cheerios is #3
Interesting, might have to give it a shot.

18oz bag under 5 bucks, shipping over 10 bucks, oof.

They have a store locator, found it at a Lowe's Foods.

take a very healthy no taste cereal (i use any of the kashi brand) and mix in some tasty cereal (cinnamon toast crunchy being my choice) and you have a morning goodness that is good for u.

Looks like bird feed

In a big bowl, mix 6C oats, 2C shredded coconut, 1C slivered almonds

In a small bowl, whisk together 1/2C maple syrup, 1/2C brown sugar, 1/2 coconut oil, 1tsp vanilla, 2tsp salt

Pour the small bowl into the big bowl, mix, and bake at 250 for 75 minutes.

Not sure if it fits your description of "healthy" or not, but this makes a basic granola that tastes good and isnt a highly processed sugar-bomb like the store bought stuff. I like it with yogurt, peanut butter and blueberries.

This is me. A box of cereal is like 3 servings.

I didn't used to like cereal. I mean I didn't crave it. Now that I am diabetic ...I crave it. Not the super sugary stuff ...the Special K with strawberries, granola stuff. But its all full of hidden sugars/carbs. I just pass out after a big bowl.

Knowing its not good for me, though craving it, a couple of months ago I made chex mix ...was so craving it. I made with ONLY the stuff I like. Wheat Chex, Rice Chex and Life cereal - along with roasted almonds and cashews, shredded nori (like in the asian mix) and furikake seasoning. I roasted everything with the traditional liquid mix with worchestershire sauce but mixed in soy sauce, sesame oil and chipolte powder.

I ate all 3 cereal boxes worth in about 3 days. I was asleep the rest of the time. God know what my blood sugar was - but I couldn't stop eating it. For those that don't have to worry about that kind of stuff - I whole heartedly recommend it.

Best. tasting. crunchy. snack. ever.

I haven't gone back because I know how bad it is for me ...but sweet baby I love it so.
