Thomas Jones yards per carry is really down this year and it seems this team is just waiting for the chance to hand the starting job over the Benson? Who will be getting more carries for the rest of the season? any thoughts?

The Bears are in the fortunate situation of having a young potential stud RB as the backup. Hopefully he's chomping at the bit to get in there as the starter and perform. Having a young fresh RB take over the reins late in the season is a huge boon to a team. Thomas Jones simply reverted back to who we thought he was... which wasn't much.

Tonight will be very telling.

Theismann just said that the Bears want to "shift things over" to Benson, getting him even more carries. Whether that is merely speculation on Joe's part or if that's what he was told, we'll soon find out.

I almost never believe anything Theisman says, but Benson has been running better lately so I could see maybe a 50/50 split on possessions instead of the 2:1 for Jones they've been employing. No matter what happens, neither of them will force the other off the field this year.
