54 yards isn't a huge run?Looks good via stat line, but that highlight shows a back without elite speed, which we all knew. Matters little for most, as he will simply will not break the huge run.Wow, 100 yards in the first, not bad![]()

You there Scotty Dog?Well Ken, I was a Torain owner and I am partial to him as he got me through the bye weeks with some good production. The reason I say he is "low reward" is because he is part of the Shanahan backfield. There is now James Davis, Keiland Williams and Torain in the mix now that you have to try and figure out who will get the carries. On top of that, Torain is coming back from a Hammy injury which is huge. Also, as you should know, when a player is out on an injury for several weeks and then comes back, their work load is usually minimal for that first week or two. Thus, I say HIGH RISK, LOW REWARD. I hope this post gets your approval.
low reward-what supports this?poor postingThe OP's thread title is wrong. It should say "high risk, low reward".
Redskins coach Mike Shanahan confirmed Monday that Ryan Torain (hamstring) will practice this week.
Torain actually did take some reps last Friday, so he may progress to full practice this week. It's good timing with a favorable matchup against Tampa Bay on the slate, but Torain would be awfully hard to trust in the fantasy playoffs after a five-week layoff and several setbacks. His return would make James Davis and Keiland Williams obvious non-factors in all leagues.

Watching the highlight seemed like he was plodding a bit. It doesn't matter, guy is ripping them off in huge chunks.54 yards isn't a huge run?Looks good via stat line, but that highlight shows a back without elite speed, which we all knew. Fixed.I'm not buying the "ease" him back in thing. Washington is in a win or go home mode and if Torain is proving to be the most effective back, he'll get his 30+ touches and I'd imagine all of the goal line work.
I've decided to go with Torain. With Portis, Shanahan was very cautious when bringing him back from injury, but once he was declared healthy, Portis got nearly all the carries the first quarter until he got another injury. So working in Torain's favor:1. Portis got many carries on his first game back until he was injured.2. The running game has suched since Torain was injured. Working against Torain:3. He is coming back from injury4. Shanahan's past, although it does not look like he has two or even another viable option right now.
He wasn't in on the GL package to end the half. Granted time was running down, but they had plenty of it and chose to keep Williams in after his big run. Surprising they pounded Williams there.Fixed.I'm not buying the "ease" him back in thing. As stated- high risk/high reward
I started him. Got my fingers crossed he does well. I am playing the top seed.I have him on my bench, did anyone start him?? Last time I started him he didn't even make it thru warmups, so forgive me for being cautious here. He will be in next week (if there is a next week for me..).

Sexy Rexy's going to be slinging it deep all day long. Should open things up for Torain, even if there are a few picks to go along with it.This was a sure fire flex play for me this week against Dallas but with Rex Grossman starting, now I'm not so sure. You gotta figure that Dallas's game plan would have to be to stop Torain first and see if Grossman can beat them.![]()
