With Holt openly admitting that he is not 100%, do you think that Bruce will be the benifactor of extra looks, and hopefully, increased production this year?

Also when would you probably see a drop-off in order to try to target a potential trade before then?

I can only hope that Bruce will at least get the same percentage of looks as he did last year. I don't see Bennett doing anything in this system this year. But maybe that is just coming from a guy who picked up Bruce late in his draft.

I have Roy Williams, Randy Moss, Plaxico, Stallworth and Bruce on my roster and if Holt isn't looking strong week one I'll be very tempted to go with Bruce. When people think he is to old they should rethink that. He is 2 months younger than Marvin Harrison and he is only 1 year younger than TO. Bruce still has alot left in the tank. He is in fantastic shape as well. Still one of the best route runners in the business. If Torry is out a game start Bruce like you would a top 15 wr and you'll be rewarded.

I missed Bruce late in the draft by two spots and was kicking myself. He is always undervalued and if Holt is out then that's all the more opportunity for him.

I think I heard Bruce say recently that he's the healthiest he's been in a couple years at this time of the season. If anyone is going to garner more looks from Bulger with a limpy Holt, it's Bruce. Bennett and McWifebeater can't have the same timing down this soon.

still see drew bennet as a sneaky play....in the mold of Joe Jurevicius with 10 tds if holt misses a lot of time.

he is a good red zone target.

He's actually been timed faster this year than he has been in the last 2 years as well.(so says Howard Bulzner on his radio program on 1380 local espn radio here in St. Louis.)

bennet was drafted before bruce in all three of my redrafts so far. Is this normal?
It's so strange. I don't know where this Bennett love comes from but I think if you poll FBG posters, you'll see a ton of people expecting big things from Bennett and ignoring Bruce. Quite frankly, I don't get it and I don't think Bennett has ever been that special...The problem with Bruce is that people are often looking for a guy that could explode late in the draft, not some safe WR3 type. They're trying to hit homeruns... Bruce caught for over 1,000 yards last season with only 3 TDs. That's a ton of yards and receptions for seeing the endzone so few times. I expect similar yardage plus a couple extra touchdowns. I say draft Bruce late and expect to play him 5 or 6 times this year...

who said anything about torry being out?
August 28, 2007, 09:30Rams :: WRRams WR Holt Recovery Is Behind ScheduleBill Coats, St. Louis Post-Dispatch - [Full Article]It's becoming increasingly evident that St. Louis Rams wide receiver Torry Holt will not be completely healthy by Sept. 9 when the Rams open the regular season against the Carolina Panthers. "It's just one of those deals where I'm not recovering as quick as I used to," said Holt, 31. "I have to get used to that and stay patient. ... I don't know if it'll ever heal all the way, but I think it will heal enough where it will allow me to go out and play." Rams HC Scott Linehan has noted improvement. "The last two days I've seen more like the Torry Holt we've all grown accustomed to," Linehan said. "It's becoming more and more encouraging every day."August 26, 2007, 13:35Rams :: WRRams WR Holt May Be Questionable For OpenerJim Thomas, St. Louis Post-Dispatch - [Full Article]St. Louis Rams WR Torry Holt took part in pregame warm-ups Friday but didn't play a down in the game. "Last week (in practice), I didn't see the fresh legs that I like to see," HC Scott Linehan said. Holt apparently experienced some swelling in his repaired knee after a hard practice earlier in the week. It has been nearly seven months since Holt underwent surgery to repair meniscus cartilage in the knee, but it's becoming increasingly evident that he will not be 100 percent for Carolina.

Torry Holt admits his rehab from knee surgery is well behind schedule.

Holt estimates he's only 70-80 percent healthy. "I don't know if it'll ever heal all the way," Holt said. "But I think it will heal enough where it will allow me to go out and play." This is now a major concern. Holt struggled to separate last season with loose cartilage in his knee and is likely to do the same this year at substantially less than full health.

Local sources don't seem to think Holt will ever be 100 percent back to his old self.
