HI Simon,
I'm late to this thread, but I took the time to read through the whole thing. Obviously, lots of questions and concerns, especially from us old-timers who have used Draft Dominator Classic (DDC) for many years. From a purely 'how do we best handle questions and input for the new APP" I'd like to make these suggestions:
1.
Having one thread in the Shark Forum and expecting everyone to read through all of it to find specific questions is extremely inefficient. I suggest deleting the old
APP Forum and starting over - then specific questions can have their own thread. As this is a 'community', users with experience can start answering questions. That's how we all learn. This will also allow you to start a FAQ directing people to specific threads.
2. Keep an updated list of prioritized wishlist items at the top of the new Forum. Then users will know what you are thinking of adding, the priority of their request, and they won't have to keep putting in their own suggestions.
3. DDC was powerful because of it's flexibility and ability to view multiple windows over two screens. At one glance I could see who was being up next in the VDP queue, number of players expected to go at each position based on my next pick (and determined by past draft data), BYE week conflicts and the number of players taken at each position for each team (to see who needed a QB or didn't) and any notes I put in for specific players (Avoid the suck). I can't see getting through all of that in the new APP and being able to decide on my next pick in 90 seconds.
4. I know you've seen the DDC
wish-list. Please try and incorporate as much of that in to the new APP as possible.
5. Create a simple how-to-document that we can printout and use to set-up our leagues and how to best use it on draft day. Yes there are help sections and a Youtube tutorial. But what settings are most important? What value should we use for setting weekly weights? Joe once said he used a GBG value of 120% for games against key opponents and 40% for playoffs. I have no clue how that translates into the new app.
Thanks for listening.
