I woke up melancholy. Being a single dad with sole custody for the last 12 years, we've developed a lighthearted inclusion of yours truly in a family Mother's Day dinner. I get gifts. There's even a song by my daughter made up to celebrate my motherhood, Mr. Mommy Daddy. But I miss my mom, gone over two years now. So I'm going to have to cheer myself up before this dinner. Do me and yourselves a little favor. Whatever you've planned for mom, no matter how big or small, add something special to it. I would if I could. Happy mothers day moms.

Big family, with crawfish boil starting shortlly. - My Mom is like really, really elderly, but she is sharp as a tack and I'd go to war with her on her side on any mental issue with anyone. She's the tempered steel to my Dad's iron. Here's to all the Moms out there. And btw to all the good Sons out there, here's to you.

Bump to serve as a reminder that Mother's Day is coming up on the 13th, so time to get your #### together.

Also a useful reminder that it is NOT on May 6th, which I thought it could be for some reason, as I panic shopped Shutterfly yesterday morning and paid $45 more than I needed to for expedited shipping to make sure I got stuff by this Friday. Which, again, is not the Friday that immediately precedes Mother's Day.
