Agree, the Shark Pool is always the first with a story and almost real time update. The problem is weeding through the Doubletrouble type postersWell, it was the first place I saw something about McGahee's knee. So they have that going for them.
The shame of it is, there once was some pretty good analysis that went on over there with plenty of statistical breakdowns and in depth reasoning. Now it's just a tank full of guppies posting the same points over and over and over and over again.Throw out a name of a player and time how fast you get 5 replies saying he'll have a breakout season vs how fast you get 5 replies saying he's going to suck.

So, which back are you taking with your 4th pick in GSFFL?The shame of it is, there once was some pretty good analysis that went on over there with plenty of statistical breakdowns and in depth reasoning. Years ago someone would get run out of the Shark Pool in seconds for posting absurd posts, now you get reported and banned as "being mean" if you tell someone they're out of their mind.
We're just trying to make sure that EVERYONE has a great season, guy.The shame of it is, there once was some pretty good analysis that went on over there with plenty of statistical breakdowns and in depth reasoning. Sorry Tom but that's wrong. Tell people they're out of their mind if you disagree. And then say why you disagree and state your case. Most everyone in the SP is smart enough to disagree without being a tool. Nobody gets banned for saying you're crazy and here's why I think that.JThe shame of it is, there once was some pretty good analysis that went on over there with plenty of statistical breakdowns and in depth reasoning. Hi Grove,This is just my opinion but I believe that if we're seeing less good insight, it's because we too much of the "you're a moron" type attitude when people disagreed. Over the last week or so, we've tried to limit that and encourage more disagreement but back it up type content. I think that's what the good posters are looking for.JThe shame of it is, there once was some pretty good analysis that went on over there with plenty of statistical breakdowns and in depth reasoning. That's cool, we just disagree there. I really have seen sort of the opposite of what you're saying when good posters are shot down with stupid replies where name calling starts and no real backup is given other than they think the guy is stupid. We'll often step in then and ask them to be cool and it's my opinion that they usually cool off. I don't think that encourages stupid posting at all. If there's one thing I've seen that I believe drives out smart people it's when the disagreements get personal and the smart people just decide it's not worth the hassle of posting there. I'm very sensitive to not let that happen. And if that means stepping in maybe too often to tell folks to chill, I guess I'm willing to do that.JJ> I disagree with you, here's why:I know it's not always clear what's a good debate and when someone is "being mean", but I think you guys step in too soon sometimes. By not letting a disagreement play out, you protect the people that are making absurd posts. If someone is making ridiculous post after ridiculous post, let him get owned by other posters and they'll stop. Instead mods step in with the "keep it down" remarks so they feel protected and continue to be ridiculous. That's just my observation as a subscriber that's posted here several years.

Wow. 2008. The more things change, the more they stay the same...You picked a good time to start. I think it's down to about 6 Favre threads on the front page from 26 just a week ago....
