this is interesting seeing some like Kent as a sleeper for this team.
When is Obomanu coming back? Is he out for the season? - nevermind, on IR, out for the season.this is interesting seeing some like Kent as a sleeper for this team.
Yeah, Obo's gone for this year...When is Obomanu coming back? Is he out for the season?this is interesting seeing some like Kent as a sleeper for this team.

LinkWeird.Seahawks cut Kent, Forsett and Plackemeier

Here's the text of the announcement from the Seattle Seahawks:
The Seattle Seahawks have released running back Justin Forsett, receiver Jordan Kent and punter Ryan Plackemeier, the team announced this afternoon. The team also placed receiver Nate Burleson on injured reserve and signed punter Jon Ryan to replace Plackemeier on the roster.
Ryan spent two seasons in Green Bay where he punted in 32 games, averaging 44.5 yards per punt. Prior to his stint with the Packers, he punted for two years with the CFL’s Winnipeg Blue Bombers.
Don't forget Weaver!I wonder if Forsett's release is an indication maybe Morris won't miss at least two games as reported yesterday. It's hard to believe the Seahawks would play the next two games with only Jones and Duckett at RB.
I did and thanks for the reminder. Hell, he might be a better option than Jones or Duckett. I think he'd definitely be a better option than Duckett.Don't forget Weaver!I wonder if Forsett's release is an indication maybe Morris won't miss at least two games as reported yesterday. He might be - he's also pretty good catching passes out of the backfield. A real deep sleeper RB if you're in a bind in PPR leagues.I did and thanks for the reminder. radio this morning said they were talking with Joe Horn, but the Seattle Times blog said he was working out for the Titans today.I was pimping Kent like crazy, I guess I will never be a NFL scout. Team message board states that a veteran WR and a QB are going to be signed. Charlie Fry will back up Hasselbeck and Senneca Wallace will move to WR and PR.That's what's being thrown around take it for what it's worth.
Over the past few seasons he's lined up at WR a handful of times. He had 2 catches for 47 yards last year.Is Wallace starting this Sunday. Does he practice at wr?
By looks of it...maybe they should cut the GM too!hmm okay lemme see if i have this straight for week one...WR injuries (3) Branch, Burleson, EngramRB injuries (1) MMorrisso let's cut a WR and RB?
That was my thought too. Kent must not have been any good in their eyes.I'd still like to hear the answer to the question as to whether Forsett can be put onto the practice squad if he clears waivers. I believe the answer is yes, but can anyone confirm?hmm okay lemme see if i have this straight for week one...WR injuries (3) Branch, Burleson, EngramRB injuries (1) MMorrisso let's cut a WR and RB?

I guess so. "Jordan, we know we only have 2 other receivers on the team that can start on Sunday, but we need to clear a roster spot and it's more important to us to keep two kickers than you."That was my thought too. Um, unless through some wrinkle in the space-time continuum Billy McMullen occupies three roster spots in Seattle, I've got a feeling that they're going to add two more guys. All this to add Billy freaking McMullen?
Separate move. They need to cut someone else for that. Kent and Forsett only made the team because Babineaux and Bernard were suspended for week 1, so they didn't count against the roster. I'm guessing they release Schmidt. All this to add Billy freaking McMullen?
slightly disappointed forsett owner here.:blowsoutthecandle:
I doubt Forsett makes it passed waivers, Kent had huge promise, raw but a great prospect. He may get snatched as well. The Texans would be wise to release Green and pick up Forsett.Forsett released? Seriously? Where's that guy who was bagging on me a few weeks back when I was saying Forsett didn't look good and it looked to me like Duckett was going to make the roster? Can they put Forsett back on the practice squad if he clears?
McMullen is in for Burleson. They could've kept Kent at that rate. They also swapped out punters.Separate move. They need to cut someone else for that. If he occupied 3 roster spots, that would at least 3 too many - maybe 4 too many. He's such a stiff he couldn't beat out Greg Lewis in Philly.Um, unless through some wrinkle in the space-time continuum Billy McMullen occupies three roster spots in Seattle, I've got a feeling that they're going to add two more guys. All this to add Billy freaking McMullen?![]()
you're right. forgot Burleson's spot. they also could have decided that having a full rack of receivers was more important than 2 kickers.McMullen is in for Burleson. That would've been nice. I was have tried to sneak Couto through waivers over one of Kent/Forsett with injuries at RB/WR. the trainwreck is happening early - expected it when Mora, Jr. started running things, but the injuries have killed them.you're right. forgot Burleson's spot. they also could have decided that having a full rack of receivers was more important than 2 kickers.McMullen is in for Burleson. There is no way that Seattle will ever touch this guy again, he had way too many problems off the field with substance abuse, had a poor work ethic and dropped way too many balls. Holmgren tried many times to work with Koren on some of these issues and it didn't happen. Seattle will not waste a roster spot on him!Really surprised nobody has mentioned Koren Robinson yet. He's only a few yrs removed from being a SEA starter.
Chad Jackson would make perfect sense for the Seahwaks
They needed room to add back babineaux and bernardUm, unless through some wrinkle in the space-time continuum Billy McMullen occupies three roster spots in Seattle, I've got a feeling that they're going to add two more guys. All this to add Billy freaking McMullen?![]()
This is the move that actually makes the most sense. Most Seattle fans I have heard from would like to bring him in this week. He is by far the most talented player on the market and would immediately be the best WR on the team. He was also a pro bowl KR, which would help immensely with the loss of Burleson, Forsett, and Morris.Really surprised nobody has mentioned Koren Robinson yet. He's only a few yrs removed from being a SEA starter.
Then he should fit right in with Seattle's current crop of WRs.There is no way that Seattle will ever touch this guy again, he had way too many problems off the field with substance abuse, had a poor work ethic and dropped way too many balls.Really surprised nobody has mentioned Koren Robinson yet. you imply that he was cut by Philly, but he was traded for Hank Baskett. I'm confused how being traded means "he couldn't beat out Lewis"?If he occupied 3 roster spots, that would at least 3 too many - maybe 4 too many. Sorry if you understood it that way. He couldn't pass Greg Lewis on the depth chart - and that's not a good sign.2003: Thrash/Pinskton/Mitchell/Lewis/McMullen2004: Owens/Pinskton/Mitchell/Lewis/McMullen2005: Owens/Brown/Lewis/McMullen/McCantsHe was the Vikings #4 or 5 WR in 2006, and out of football last year - even though the Vikes new coach dealt for him.you imply that he was cut by Philly, but he was traded for Hank Baskett. yeah, I knew all that, but Lewis was better suited for the slot so he played ahead of them. That doesn't tell us much.Fact is, McMullen looked great in Washington camp this year, but never really had a shot with all the guys there. he probably knows the offense as well since Zorn is from Seattle not to mention Philly and Minny both run the WCO as wellSorry if you understood it that way.
