Does anybody older than 15 actually enjoy this?

Just curious.

i'd read about the hit that bryant took on the onside kick and was interested in seeing it (he's on two of my teams)...but other than that, no.

I like the replays of the hits. I dont like listening to those idiots yelling He got jacked up. Nice hits they show though.

I do...... :bag:

36 years old and 5 kids......

What does this say about me.....

I guess I am just JACKED UP!!!!!!!!!!

To me, there's something wrong about the anouncers screaming "Jacked up!!!" and laughing while watching the tapes of atheletes getting leveled and hurt. I noticed they didn't include the LJ hit (which might have been too much, even for them) but that hit on Bryant looked brutal. I'd like to know where exactly they would draw the line. Would we hear "Jacked up!!" and laughter following a shot that results in a minor concussion? How about a severe one? What about a spinal-injury producing hit??

i dont like it because the first four highlights were of guys getting "pushed down"

ernie sims busts out the smelling salts on mewelde moore and there is no mention of it on the segment :wall:

They will not show hits on which a person was injured or a penalty was called. So, a lot of football's best hits aren't able to be shown. That being said, I'm 35 with two kids and we love the Jacked Up segment. My wife and I were on vacation and she made them turn to the football game early so that we could see the Jacked Up segment. One of the first phrases my son learned was... "Jacked Up!". I guess it holds a soft spot in our family.

Maybe they're saving that for their new segment: "CARTED OFF!" For that, they will only show players that have been injured enough to need "carted off" the field. They could have started it tonight by showing the Trent Green hit. We see Green's head snap back in that violent whip-lash fashion, slamming at high velocity right into the field. Then, as he loses consciousness and we see his limp body just laying there on the field, the gang could scream "CARTED OFF!!!" while erupting in laughter and exchanging high-fives with one another. (I would think Steve Young would enjoy a segment like that, especially considering the role concussions played in his retirement.) Wouldn't that be entertaining?

Tatum Belll just got JACKED UP! :bag:
I'm surprised he got back up. It looked like he ducked right into a shot on the crown of the helmet. Didn't see a replay, but I was surprised they didn't cut to a shot of him laying on the field.

They don't show hits involving clear signs of serious injury. Minor concussions (ones in which the player does not lose full consciousness) are a frequent occurence in the NFL. I notice Bryant's numbers were down yesterday. Perhaps that was just a coincidence, but perhaps it wasn't.

How many hits that ESPN highlights during this segment result in fines for the defensive player or injury to the guy who got JACKED UP!!

Now, I am all for hard hitting and think there are too many penalties called for helmet to helmet, defenseless receiver etc., BUT if the NFL is fining guys 10Gs and suspending players and trying to protect players etc., then they NFL shouldnt be supporting a segment like this. The league shouldnt be allowed to send mixed signals like that to their players.

ernie sims hits so hard he has gotten multiple concussions himself... when asked about it by a reporter, he replied... you should see the other guys! :)

or maybe Ron Jeremy introducing clips where the announcers yell "JACKED...um, nevermind.

:goodposting: I like to see the big hits of the day, but the way they report on it is classless.

I haven't seen the segment, but Bryant did have to get multiple stitches to close up his chin.
