since i dropped him for j.d. drew, his playing time seems to have increased ( isn't that always the way it goes!) has he stopped doing the full platoon with crisp? lack of playing time was the reason i dropped him. ( i'd drop hermida, not drew, if i "retrieved" ellsbury)

That's just awesome. he's gotten 16 Hits and scored 19 times... how? 13 Walks. So he's scored 19 of 29 times he's gotten on base. SPEED KILLS (having Pedroia, Ortiz, Manny, Youk hitting behind you doesn't hurt matters either)

Ellsbury and Pedroia at the top of the lineup work so well together. Ellsbury's speed forces pitchers to feed Pedroia fastballs and Pedroia's patience and ability to rarely swing and miss make him a perfect 2-hitter. That Ellsbury can score on a double from first just makes it that much sweeter.
