:kicksrock: He has unbelievable hands yet he fumbled the ball away the very same play, maybe you meant unbelievably buttery.2 receivers, one is 6'1" 207 lbs. and the other is 6'2" 210 lbs. yet the smaller of the two, albeit one inch, is the much better redzone target?
That fumble had nothing to do with his hands as far as catching the ball. He has caught everything in sight all through the preseason. Find me one person who disagrees that his hands aren't great who has seen him.Size doesn't = redzone ability. Being able to find open spots in a defense, having great hands, and being able to use your body does. James is far more developed in all those areas at this time.Jacoby never had over 6 TD's in a college season.
The fumble had nothing to do with his hands. He didn't put the ball away. That's something he'll learn soon enough. James Jones has a God-given gift to go and get the ball at it's highest point and the hands that allow him to catch any ball thrown within his reach. He's going to be an excellent pro and will put up very, very good numbers as the #3WR in Green Bay. I don't know if he'll overtake Jennings as the #2, but as Jennings has learned all of the WR positions I wouldn't be surprised to see a 2A/2B situation.Driver/Jennings/J. Jones >>>>>> Roy Williams/Calvin Johnson/Mike Furrey :boxing:
I dont want to hear that.. I have J.jones and Jennings...I want one of them to step forward.....

Jacoby with 3 catches on the opening drive including the TD.
Not just a TD, but a 3 yard REDZONE TD. Apparently he is a good redzone target despite what some posters have stated in this thread. :lmao:
One play doesn't all of a sudden make him a great redzone target. Maybe he'll develop into one, but his intermediate/short route running was one of his major knocks coming into the league. He looks great, but let's not go making snap judgments off one TD.
Don't forget about the small hands concern.
That will definitely be a concern for the ladies....

You said one person..."Hands are only above-average and he'll drop some catchable balls. Will lose site of balls thrown to his outside shoulder. "

LOL, that is someone's personal site who probably never watched him. Also you conveniently left out the part that was stated later on "Didn't drop a pass during the Combine." The combine is fact, the rest was an opinion from a blogger.Find me one person who has watched James Jones who hasn't been impressed with his hands.

I love the raw potential that Jacoby has, if he hitches to Andre Johnson and learns from him he could end up being special. But at this time I'd have to take James Jones in a redraft & dynasty, he's more polished and looks ready to make the next step.

Jacoby may be starting from day one but I think that James will continue to be heavily involved in the Green Bay passing game, even if he remains listed as the #3 in GB all season. I have to go with James over Jacoby at this point.

Very close, so I break it down this way. I believe that Jacoby has an easier path to steady #2 work (once the coaches figure out that he's WAAAY better than Kevin Walter). James, OTOH, still has to fight for Driver's table scraps with Greg Jennings.
My thoughts exactly. I thought Jennings was the clear #2 in GB while Jacoby seems to have a handle on #2 in Houston. Based on that and pre-season performance, Jacoby seems to have more upside. I can't get too excited about the #3 WR on just about any team.

Rotoworld certainly seems convinced of Jacoby's tremendous potential:

"Jacoby Jones caught three passes for 34 yards and a TD Thursday night.

All Jacoby Jones does is produce. We doubt Kevin Walter will last long in the starting lineup because Gary Kubiak is going to have to play the kid. He is simply too sensational and his playmaking upside is Andre Johnson-esque."

I take Jacoby over James right now. Both have good potential I think. Both have shown some great flahses in the preseason but in the end I want the guy who has the best shot at getting into the endzone every week. Right now I think that guy is Jacoby. I think James Jones could end up with more catches but Jacoby Jones will end up with more yards and TDs.

Looking into the future, I don't like the prospects of A. Rodgers being James Jones QB either.....

In leagues with return yards, Jacoby all night & day.

In normal leagues -- ppr & non-ppr -- it's a tossup at this point. If Driver is healthy, as other poster said, James is WR3. Until he steals Jennings spot.

For Jacoby, Kubs has basically done everything but hand him the starting spot. Sounds like he'll let Walter start out of vet respect, but I'd imagine Jacoby is going to be on the field a lot. More than your typical WR3 (or 2B).

Dunno.

Jacoby is a playmaker. Not sure why people would ignore their eyes.

I didn't last year with Colston, and I'm not going to again with Jacoby.

 Good Posting.Jacoby is starting to remind me of Colston too. With the way he has been playing, I think he gets the opportunity. And he has already shown the talent.

Rodgers has looked good this preseason and when did Shaub become a great qb?

Rodgers has looked good in preseason? Come on. Its preseason. Everyone looks good! And I never said Schaub was a great QB, but he has proved he can play well in the regular season and I would take him over Rodgers.
