Agree. If we recall correctly, the drafting of LeShoure coincided with the fact that Kevin smith wasn't even on the roster by the time the season came around, that Kevin Smith sat out of the league with zero callers for half the year, and the only reason he came back was Detroit was out of bodies. Those are all the facts of the matter and part of the equation is Smith's tendency to get injured. Opportunity is a big thing so I guess its ok to take advantage of the opportunity at hand, but IMO, saying Kevin Smith is a good option IN THE MOMENT is a very different thing than saying he will be a steal of the draft or even saying that he is severely undervalued because I think people that say he is undervalued in the draft tend to assume he is going to be a starter all year; he might not. He might start seeing less opportunity as early as Week 3.Sure, that's why they drafted Leshoure.Given his ADP Kevin Smith (only 25 years old) will be the steal of the draft IFhe can stay healthy. No doubt Leshoure will play a role, but Smith's style of running is a better fit for the Lions.
Its a gamble. He might come in and play so well that he takes the job and stays healthy and never looks back. But you also have to at least entertain the thought of him getting hurt yet again or struggling and the Lions putting in LeShoure or perhaps even something as simple as the Lions just might be eager to see what they have in LeShoure when he finally gets back. And all these things are being said while completely ignoring Jahvid Best. Granted, with every day that goes by, Best seems like a white dragon but it IS still possible he could return and if he does, he is a major fantasy force and would suck all the value out of Smith. I think its a case where its almost impossible to count on Smith as a year-long fantasy player for a team.
