Jamaal Charles touches (1 Viewer)

When the game matters and they're not winning and or its a close game....Jamaal is going to be in

When they're winning and are just going through the motions on offense....Thomas Jones will be in

After watching the game today, I called who was going to be the featured back on like 5 offensive drives. It's so obvious what he's doing. Getting his money's worth out of Jones when they're winning while limiting the wear on Jamaal.

As a Charles owner I have no problem with how he was used today. If he gets that many carries on a regular basis, he will break alot of those long ones.

He's been close the last few weeks. Consistently averaging 5, 6, 7 ypc without a 30-40-50+ yarder to boost the stats. He's going to have a monster game very soon: something in the order of 170+ yards. The likes of Jacksonville and Buffalo are no match for what they've faced recently.

chiefs lost and jamaal didnt touch the ball on the last possession. can tjones fanbois explain this? bc up till now i had been sold on haley always making the correct decision.

Jones had a great game. I dont think you can blame the coaches here.

The 2nd to last possession KC had where they were winning and wanted to run the clock down....ALL JONES. (*Might I add at 3rd and 2 on this drive KC needed a first down to potentially ice the game, they put CHARLES in)The last possession KC had where they were losing....ALL CHARLES. The 2nd to last play was a pass to CHARLES. Didn't see Jones once on this drive. It's so obvious

Pass interference call on Brandon Flowers on the last drive clearly should've been called on Andre Johnson for pushing off. That would've pushed HOU back and KC probably wins this game. KC got robbed.

Agreed. Terrible Call. The PI that gave the Jets the last touchdown and the game was bad too. Holmes slowed down and grabbed the DB first; the DB grabbed back second. Maybe it was double PI and offsetting but it should not have been on Denver only.PI rules in the NFL have gotten ridiculous.

Any more news on the usage of Jamaal Charles? Are we bearish for his touches to go up? I'm working out a trade to send off Javhid Best and get Charles, I'm more optimistic Charles will do better the 2nd half of the season as opposed to Javhid who has a bad wheel

Total B.S.The defensive pass interference call was horrible, but AJ DID NOT push off. I've watched the play countless times on my dvr and what you don't see in real time is the arm bar Flowers gives AJ as they cross the KC 35 yd line. Flowers wasn't gonna let AJ pass him and AJ wasn't gonna let Flowers give him the arm bar, which is why AJ nudged him. And it was a nudge, but Flowers gave up on the play and chose to do his best Dirk Novitzki impression and flail about wildly like he'd been the victim of the worst offensive pass interference ever. AJ barely bumped him, and if that was offensive PI then it should be called on just about every go route in every game. The contact was mutual and totally ordinary.

Here's the thing that bugs me about all that bellyaching--the pass was complete and the penalty declined.

Go bump the HOU KC game thread if you want to talk about a stupid penalty. It has nothing to do with Charles....

*IF* the theory that he gets less touches in a win proves true, you should wait a couple weeks. They'll whip the Jags and Bills at home and, if it's true, Jones will be getting the grunt work.

He's my #2 or #3 back depending on the opponent.

Here's what he's scored weekly for me in my league system:

15.0, 6.0, 14.0, 0.0, 7.0, 11.0, 10.6 average weekly

Not bad, not great. I'm hoping the schedule being easier and his carries increasing will lead to more tds.

Tough one, so is the strategy to start Charles when he has a tough matchup because KC will be behind? Jax this week is a tasty one, but it wouldn't be fun if it was a party mostly for Thomas Jones

He's on my bench behind Hillis and Felix until futher notice. I started him last week and had good results but TJ is not going away right now as many thought he would.

You cannot talk about oone without the other. Where would you rank Charles going forward and where would you rank Jones? Charles a top 10 or so and Jones a top 20? I have seen Jones ranked as high going forward as top 13 and as low as top 30. Charles as high as RB12 and as low as RB20. In other words, will KC run the ball 40 times a game from here on out? Rather than the carries being decided by whether they are ahead or behind, I think it is more a matter of carries. If they run 30 times, I predict Charles 20 and Jones 10 like in week 5.

REALLY??? you have been sold on haley making the right decisions??? wow I haven't had that feeling ever LOL he is consistently not playing charles like he should... Tjones gets goalline and gets just as many carries... yea charles had more but goalline should go to Charles.. hope charles tears up JAC pansy d like CJ did

charles will get his they were using Jones while he still can run for first 6-8 weeks.. 2nd half charles will be avg 130 yards from scrimmage or more

TJ looked good today, unfortunately for Charles owners. If Charles didn't vulture one of his TDs it would have been a stinker.

I was hoping he'd do better in the 2nd half so I could get some increased sale value before I shopped him around.

I've been in denial all season but this is a full on RBBC and TJ gets the goal line work as well. Charles might be a homerun threat but he's just not getting it done with his limited touches. You can't bank on a long TD every week and 10-15 touches a game just isn't enough. He's borderline RB2/3 unless TJ is injured. FBGs had him around 13 points in .5 PPR and I thought they were nuts. I guess that's why I'm the subscriber and they are the #1 FF site...

the problem is that TJ is starting and when they play a crappy run defense and also are going to play the "hot hand"..well it makes sense that the starter will be the "hot hand". If Charles started today, then he would have had the monster game.

It's a long season. The OL is a dominant run-blocking unit, Cassel is heating up, and Charles is young and fresh. I don't think we've seen even close to the best from Charles just yet.

If he is your rb2 in a ppr, he is doing just fine. You can be sure that he will blow up once you bench him. Sort of like McFadden this week.

How can you honestly predict when to start him and when to bench him though? The past two weeks were arguably his best matchups to date, and he did very average. The TD today belonged to TJ but he couldn't finish the run. TJ was only out because he was winded from running 70 yards...Charles practically did nothing until the game was well in hand. He had maybe 10 yards in the first half?!?I just don't see it unless TJ goes down with injury. KC may be the #1 rushing offense in the league but it still doesn't produce a consistent fantasy RB1. Look at the stinker that TJ had in week 5. You might as well flip a coin with these guys every week. You might be ok with riding the peaks and valleys but I'll take a higher floor over a higher ceiling every time.

Hes on pace for what....1700 or so total yards and around 6 TDs? Are people really disappointed in that as their likely #2 back.
I have no problems with him as my RB2 but I just find it funny how every week someone says he's about to blow up.
You dont think he will? He hasnt really even broken one yet this year has he? He is one of those guys capable of 200 yards in any given week. He showed that last year.

:hot: I keep hearing the same thing every week
There are 10 games left. You laugh as if it's week 15. I'm plenty happy with him as a 3-league owner, and I know there's plenty more to come. As a Chiefs fan I saw that last year. Make no mistake, he's going to have a 200-yard, 2+ TD game this year. And when to start him? Every week with confidence. No risk of missing on that big week here.

Jones was the pick this year. In my money league Charles was drafted in the second round. That team will have one win after this weekend. Jones was drafted in the 12th round that team is in first place.

I don't see Charles outperforming Jones from here on out. TJ was clearly the better back today.

A lot of people down on a guy that is on pace for 1600+ yards. Tough crowd.

You're a nut. One game is blinding you. I don't know if you know this but Jamaal was/is leading the league in YPC @ 6.3. TJ is at 4.3.This one game doesn't determine who outperforms who for the rest of the year. TJ had a 70 yard rush, that kind of cushions his stats. So you think his YPC will stay at 6.3 or better from here on out because they were 6.3 today? Or will his YPC average back to what he's averaged for 6 games? Hmmmmmmm

He's going to blow up, but it'll be on my bench unfortunately...because I never know when to start this guy!

No kidding..."he's about to blow up" isn't winning me a championship!
Championships are won in weeks 13 - 16...if your team is so messed up that you will not sniff the playoffs in your league, I doubt drafting JC with a 2nd/3rd/4th round pick is your main problem. It is not as if there have not been MANY draft surprises and free agent gems....if you havn't picked up on any of that action, that is probably why you won't be sniffing a championship this year, not because Charles is having an average year.

pretty much this. its absurd how good charles is at real and fantasy football. he is fulfilling his absolute floor and it is healthy sjax level production. he has only one way to go up and even if he doesnt he has proven to be a (non results oriented) great value pick.
