Jamaal Charles touches (1 Viewer)

This was my first game to pay strong attention to Charles after trading LT for him last week, but I wasn't overly impressed. Jones is impressive and was the same way against my Texans last week, I just hope everyones right about him turning it on down the stretch seeing as how he's my every week RB2 from here on out. The numbers if he keeps up the pace will be great, but I'm worried about the TDs because Jones is clearly the GL back and Charles only had the one today when Jones was winded along with one in the beginning of the season where he busted a long run.

EDIT: Just looked at his schedule in the next few weeks. Denver twice. WOOO

That was pretty much the worst game I've seen him play in a Chiefs jersey where he got plenty of touches (may have 1 or 2 worse statistical games, but context wise and how he looked, the worst I've seen him)....he STILL averaged 4.7 ypc. That sorta speaks to just how good he is.

It's getting worse for JC. They are trying to get the ball more to McCluster as well now. Throw in the fact that they let Jackie Battle close the game out. Too many mouths to feed. I just keep thinking that Haley is just throwing JC a bone to keep him quiet and he would really rather be rid of him because he's a Herm holdover.

I think it's still all smoke and mirrors for the Chiefs. Yes, they are improved...but so far they have only beaten the teams they were supposed to beat. They lost to Indy and Houston. Fortunately for the Chiefs they have a cupcake schedule from here on out and just might get to the playoffs this year barring an injury to key players or some sort of implosion. But they will surely be one and done once/if they make it to the playoffs. If their running game ever struggles, Cassel will not be able to win a game for them.

Battle? Come on now. The game was over and he's doing mop-up duty. And there's a reason why McCluster didn't get loads more carries after back-to-back 10+ yarders to open the game. He's not going to seriously threaten Charles' touches.

Not sure of the relevance of this in this thread, but they completely outplayed the Texans and should be 5-1. If they played again tomorrow I'm taking KC, especially in KC -- which is where they'll be if they win the west. Agree that they can't win without the run...thankfully, no one's really come close to stopping them all year, and I see but one or two teams that might come close all year. Anyway, like I said, not relevant. Charles' playoffs will be over by the time KC's roll around, if they do.

Jackie Battle isn't as talented as JC...but the fact is that he is another body to steal carries from JC. And as far as McCluster...isn't that the same argument we are making for JC? If the guy is averaging 10 yards a carry, shouldn't he be getting more opportunities to touch the ball? PLUS McCluster is one of "Todd's guys".

Clust is a rag doll. Damn exciting but they know he can't hold up, I'm almost certain about that. It's the only explanation for such careful usage of him as a runner.

My concern for Charles remains Jones. While he's breaking off 70-yard runs and converting those short-yardage and goal line plays, they'll keep using him.

Jackie Battle really? Im sure Haley is using Charles just as he wants to, why would he have a grudge against a guy averaging 6 ypc. Hes not a big guy and obviously wants to limit him to around 15 carries a game if he can. You dont make a ferrari work like a pick up truck. Mccluster, battle etc arent going to cut into charles' carries. Pencil Charles in for 15 and then split the other whatever between whomever.

I agree that Cassel may not win alot of games for them but I did think it was an interesting stat I read that Cassel's 108 QB rating over the last 4 games this year is better than any other QB in the league in the last 4 games (minimum 100 attempts). You could have given me 10 guesses of who that was and I would not have guessed Cassel. The Chiefs may not be able to win if they have to throw the ball 40 times but Cassel can help them win by playing just how he is now. Don't turn the ball over or take a bunch of sacks. Yes I am a homer but I am not blinded by the Chief's success. I am not a Cassel fan and have not been since the trade BUT he has been alot better as of late.

Any homers care to comment on the actual type of runs this guy is getting? Is he playing in alot of I-form or single back, lots of draws? Curious of what the majority of his sets look like.
