Jamal Lewis on PUP? Anyone heard of this? (1 Viewer)

I had a completely "unofficial source" inform me today that J. Lewis was just recently placed on the PUP. I haven't found any news supporting this yet. Anybody out there hear of this?

Nobody in my league. Actually just a guy that usually knows his football pretty well. However, I didn't have time to ask where he heard it and I'm not putting much stock in it. Just thought I'd toss it out there since I was just told this about 20 minutes ago. I'm sure he's good to go, or will be by season's start.

Nobody in my league. Actually just a guy that usually knows his football pretty well. However, I didn't have time to ask where he heard it and I'm not putting much stock in it. Just thought I'd toss it out there since I was just told this about 20 minutes ago. I'm sure he's good to go, or will be by season's start.

I don't think Jamal can be put on the PUP since he has already practiced.

The Browns put Jurevicius on PUP and Kevin Kasper on IR. They cut a couple rookies, but that's it. They made those moves to meet the 75-man roster requirements. I don't see anything about Lewis going on the regular season PUP list.

Smells, but I did find this: Lewis: "He's got a hamstring strain and it's been improving. It improved over the weekend. He's running in the pool and doing some stuff inside. He's doing OK."

Agreed. That's why I was merely posting it as a question whether anyone had heard anything. I'm not one to toss info out unless I know it to be fact. My unrequested "source" may have hit the beer fridge a little too early today!

Jamal Lewis remains sidelined with a "slight hamstring strain."

Coach Romeo Crennel said Lewis has been improving over the weekend while running in the pool and doing side work. Lewis won't play this week, but he is expected to return for the season opener.

Once a player practices, he is ineligible to be placed on any PUP list for any reason. Jamal has practiced and played already.
