James Hardy - Where is the love? (1 Viewer)

James Hardy is listed as the #2 WR starting opposite of Lee Evans, but no one talks about him at all. I don't have much insight to Buffalo, but watched Hardy a lot in college. The guy is a TD machine. Could be the best rookie WR in the draft. Rookies don't normally produce big at WR, but if he starts he will get his share of targets along with being a great target in the end zone would make him valuable as a WR 4.

JMO That Buffalo needs to work on having 1 viable fantasy WR option (who IMO looks to be Evans...if anyone) before I'm going to go out on a limb saying a second.

I'm not considering Hardy for any teams this season. If he somehow busts out with Edwards in his 2nd season at QB, I'll miss the train I guess.

he's been fighting through some hamstring problems during the preseason. made some nice plays when he did play though.

Josh Reed will open the year as the #2 for starters. I love the Bills and the Hardy pick, but he won't even be #3 because Roscoe Parrish is the slot guy. So we have to wait on him to take the split end job from Reed which could take any length of time. Best idea, if you have large rosters stash him away and wait till week 8 or 9 and he could be a servicable WR3.

the love is right here

This kid is gonna be a stud. Try and get the kid in all dynasty leagues!

There is plenty of love in dynasty leagues. IIRC, he's going in the 7th - 10th rounds in startups.

It's in redraft (which is like 85% of the SP this time of year it seems) that he's not worth considering much beyond a late round pick.

Dude, I'm glad not too many people are talking about Hardy. :goodposting: Makes him an even better value.

I like him in dynasty leagues but not in redrafts. I don't think he'll make much impact this year, but I like him for 2009 and beyond.

I like Hardy's talent long-term, but for this year, I expect him to be inconsistent like most rookies. He may have respectable TD numbers, but receptions and yards may be hit and miss.

He is hurt & will play sparingly in the first few weeks. He should get regular play by Week 5 & start by Week 8-9. I expect 5 TD or so, but only maybe 45 receptions.

I think he'll be hit or miss based on if he scores or not to go with his 55 yards/game.

Hurt? He just caught a couple of passes for 30 yards. Every indication he is healthy now and will be ready week 1.

He looked pretty healthy last week against the Lions.

He is the #3 to open the season, Reed is the #2. Hardy could not stay healthy this preseason to show his talents enough to EARN the #2 starting spot.

I agree with you 110% that Hardy will be an incredible TD threat (hard not to be when you're that big!). I just don't think it happens this season. The Bills are developing, but let's not go crazy about a rookie WR on the BILLS. Edwards, Lynch, Hardy will all grow this year and NEXT year Hardy will be a huge sleeper with TD potential. I just don't see it this season.

Calvin Johnson was drafted as a high 1st rounder in a Mike Martz offense. Everyone thought he'd be incredible. He STARTED as the #2 all season and put up (rounding up) 50/750/4.

So let's not jump the gun just yet. Hardy will probably post about 45/600/4 this year. Not really worth a bye week fill in, probably all he's worth is a bench spot as a WR5 in a dynasty league. No roster value THIS season, but NEXT season I think he develops into a solid WR3.

Not much talk about him but I drafted him as my sleeper as my WR4. I know he didn't make the stat sheet last week, but what are the current thoughts on Hardy now. I kind of like his SOS.

I'll definitely wait to see some production before I think about starting him. He has great size and runs good routes, but there must be something missing for him to lay a goose egg the first week.

I drafted both Hardy and Royal in my dynasty draft, and I've been eagerly looking forward to watching them both. Hardy was invisible week 1. :goodposting:

He hasn't learned the playbook very well so far and his routes haven't been that great either. Josh Reed and Roscoe Parrish are both ahead of him on the depth chart right now. He may end up with some redzone work later in the season, but unless you're in a dynasty/keeper league, I'd cut bait.
