Anyone know what this may be regarding? -Marshall traded? -Simms the starter?-Moreno hurt worse than anticipated?per broncotalk

Quite the tease, Jamie Dukes. You’ve got every Broncos fan on twitter and every NFL media guy chomping at the bit.Dukes posted these three updates on his twitter in the last hour: BOMBSHELL ALERT COMING OUT OF DENVER No one died if that’s what you’re worried about but i just don’t know what they are thinking. Jason LaCanfora is working the story and will be posting it on his blog late tonight.La Canfora’s blog can be found on NFL.com. Come refresh with us and support NFL.com advertisers! Is it Brandon Marshall trade news? Making a move at quarterback? Is it totally overblown by Mr. Dukes, who has the tendency to SHOUT IN ALL CAPS a lot? (My theory.) We’ll know soon enough… hopefully.

Simms is probably named the starter over Orton. Not that bombshell.
I'd be shocked. You have 1/100th of your game plan installed in PreWeek1, and Simms looked good against guys who won't be in the league. A decision like that so soon would be hasty and short-sighted, but I guess nothing McDaniels does would surprise me.

Yeah but Orton has looked absolutely doo-doo so far with Denver, both in practice and in preseason. Its not like putting in Simms could make things much worse.

On a completely unrelated note, I absolutely hate Jamie Dukes.

Broncos | Could Hillis emerge as starter?

CBSSports.com reports Denver Broncos FB Peyton Hillis could wind up as the team's No. 1 running back in Week 1. Hillis has not missed a workout in training camp, while RBs Knowshon Moreno (knee), Correll Buckhalter (undisclosed) and LaMont Jordan (knee) have been sidelined at various points due to injury.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I read in more then one site, that Hillis has been lights out in training camp. Of course the smart money is to stay away from the Denver running game

The Broncos finally admit that Rob Lytle fumbled in the '77 AFC title game against Oakland, and our defensive TD should have counted?

Probably traded Marshall to the Ravens for a sack of wet mice.

Weren't the Ravens rumored to be courting them in the off-season to acquire his services? They have one WR out for the year now, Clayton hurting too(when isn't he?), Mason retired-unretired-etc. and he's 100. Demetrius Williams is, well, Demetrius Williams.

I just read that on Bronco's Country Forum, but he's just a back up. Not bombshell.

They gave a 5th round pick and got LeKevin Smith and a 7th.

There should be more names with "Le" in front of them.I read that as "THE Kevin"....and that made it awesome.

Not to call anyone out but I am pretty sure a very popular employee of this board is supposed to be at Bronco's camp daily. Wheres the scoop ??

Never! We won that game fair and square. I was 11, I don't remember either play you're talking about. Any chance of finding a link to that footage? Nevermind, from what you are saying, I might not want to see it.

Wow, he says Jason La Canfora will be breaking the story later....Hes a Baltimore beat writer. Did they really trade Marshall?

Does Dukes still do that "Booyaka" bit on NFL network? That was apparently a copycat of Tom Jackson's "Jacked Up!" only it was horrible.

January of 1978, the defending champion Oakland Raiders were coming off of a thrilling double overtime win over the Baltimore Colts, and coming into Mile High Stadium to face their long time division rivals the Denver Broncos. Late in the game, Craig Morton handed the ball off to Rob Lyttle who plunged towards the goal line only to be blasted by Jack "the Assassin" Tatum who knocked the ball loose. Mike McCoy picked up the ball and was running for an apparent go ahead touchdown, when the officials blew the play dead saying that forward progress had been stopped. At that time there was no instant replay, so that was the end of that. The NFL apologized to the Raiders, saying it was a bad call. Rob Lytle has also since admitted it was a fumble. The Raiders were denied the chance to defend their title.http://bleacherreport.com/articles/215110-...al-games/page/9

I doubt the Ravens trade for Marshall they really do not have the cap room to give him a contract he wants. Not going to happen but stranger things have happen

Something tells me Dukes is exaggerating.

If it was major, like Marshall getting traded, it would be on every major website and channel already.

If it was "major", it would be more than just blog worthy.

It was payback for the *ahem* "roughing" call on Sugar Bear Hamilton. :lmao:
