jamie winborn/ian gold (1 Viewer)

have read reports before that bates likes him and today i read that the broncos gave him a extension. could he push gold? if he could and could stay healthy he could put up good numbers as he's ultra aggresive and a gifted athlete(just not health wise). he could bring some thump to denver's run stopping woes like keiaho did for indy. being a niner fan i've always sorta followed him and hoped the best for him. very fun player to watch. he may do things wrong or be out of position but that sucker will atleast get to the right/wrong place in a freak'n hurry.

Interesting player that's for sure. I've always thought of him as "glass on wheels". Hard to say what will happen in Denver next year. Bates has never had a defense this poor against the run and there were rumors earlier in the season that his philosophy was on the way out.

Gold is an underrated, consistent talent, but anything is possible. If it's the Bates defense, though, Winborn would have to work his way to the MLB spot to have much more than LB3 value though.

Gold is an extremely underrated talent... i don't see winborn pushing him for anything... Gold is very athletic and quick for his size.. i think the only linebacking position that was in jeopardy was D.J williams in the middle and he's becoming more and more solid every game.

i'm not saying that gold isn't any good. Gold is a good overall talent, but like indy moving keiaho into cato's spot they got better(and a big ++++ from a healthy sanders) in run defense that needed some 'oomph'. winborn could bring more downhill aggressiveness to a front 7 that needs it.
