Jason Campbell (1 Viewer)

Jason Campbell draws the Pats at home today. There's a lot of pros and cons to this matchup:

Pro:

Pats pass defense has given up the most yards through the air through 3 weeks.

Pats are missing two CBs and a third one is questionable.

Campbell is 5-1 in his last six starts at home and tends to play better there.

McFadden will keep the D honest and provide a nice outlet for screens/checkdowns.

Denarius Moore is coming into his own.

Pats will score points and the Raiders will need to keep up.

Con:

Campbell is more of a game manger and is not asked to win the game with his arm unless necessary.

The Raiders will try to control the clock with the ground game early. If successful, this will shorten the game.

Jacoby Ford won't be 100% if he even plays.

If the Pats get up early, there will be more passing attempts, but could lead to picks.

Pats are coming off a loss, doubt this makes a difference, but some will sat they'll be "angry".

Campbell has always been mediocre.

Obviously if you have an elite QB option, you're not even thinking about Campbell. But if you've got injuries or medicore options/matchups this week, would you trust Campbell?

I'm expecting a good week from him. It could be a shoot out against NE and if NE gets a big lead the Raiders will have to pass. They are more of a running team but there's always a chance for a big play to Ford or Moore and sometimes those little dumpoffs to Bush or McFadden turn into big gains.

My team is weak at QB so maybe I'm just being optimistic but I feel good about starting him today.

Unless you have a stud QB, you have to start Campbell with confidence IMO. NE will score. Even if McFadden tears it up on the ground, which I expect, Campbell will have to put yds and points on the board through the air. It helps that NE's secondary is awful. This game should produce a ton of fantasy points all around.

Started Campbell over Flacco for what it's worth. Patriots allowing a lot of receiving yards... thinking he does well.
