Javon Walker wants out (1 Viewer)

OK, I was dreaming that the Broncos would get 2 #1s for Walker...but honestly, pending a physical, what's to say he can't thrive opposite a guy like Owens? I think Dallas will find that they desperately need another receiving option other than Witten this postseason, and if Rosenhaus made Owens happy in Dallas, he could make Walker happy there too.

If he hadn't gotten hurt, there was a good chance of him and Marshall being similar to Chad Johnson and TJ in Cincy. If Denver got something out of moving Ashley Lelie, they have to get SOMETHING out of moving Walker...
Walker won't be #1 in Dallas either?
I don't think he wants to be a #1 as much as he wants to be a winner. If Denver had 10 wins this year (and he played in more than half of them), I doubt this would even be a discussion.
But he didn't say that.

Saying that he's a poor loser doesn't lead to new contracts. Winning makes a lot of issues suddenly disappear.

Disclaimer: I thought Walker had a shot to be the #1 WR this year. Why all the J.W. hate? I read his comments as saying that because of the performances by Marshall and Stokely, Denver likely will release him rather than pay the amount agreed to in his contract. Walker has no intention of playing for less than the amount the team agreed to pay him -- and I do not blame him. I didn't see anything to indicate that he has lost a step this season -- he just got injured.Nor do I think he made a mistake getting out of Green Bay. He was treated poorly by the team and the QB and he had every reason to leave. Depending on what happens this offseason, I still see Walker as an excellent sleeper candidate next year.
I think he mentioned Green Bay only to illustrate how much he wants out of Denver. >I'll even go back to GB.<I think the issue is Marshall and perceived connection to Williams killers(they've never been caught) and he just wants to go somewhere (anywhere) else.
Who has a connection to Williams' killers?
Marshall. Read the past news on the issue.
Not finding anything.

I don't think you will because it's a rumor and nothing more.

I don't agree. The guy wasn't happy playing with one of the greatest QBs of all time and isn't happy now that he's on a team that potentially could have an incredible passing attack next season if he was healthy. This is all about the fact he came back from his injury and was a complete non-factor while Marshall got all the love from Cutler and the routes called from Shanahan. Of that I'm as certain as I can be.

Saying that Walker would be beaten out not just by Driver (who couldn't beat him out the last time they played together) and Jennings (who's about 300 yards shy of Walker's big season in Green Bay), but by JAMES JONES, who has 676 career receiving yards... that's schtick. That's taking a point and then overexaggerating it beyond all meaning and reasonability.

The man equated playing professional football to serving in Iraq. I've hated him since that day.Link.

"“Anybody can (say), ‘OK, he had a great year, let’s see if he can do it again,’” he said. “That’s like trying to tell a person to go to war in Iraq, but let me see if you can go to war again and come back and then we’ll give you a medal of honor. You can’t send a soldier out to a battle field twice for him to be consistent.”

Idiot.

Wow I didn't realize he said that. What an effin tool..

He isn't very bright and he has people close to him who give him terrible advice (I'm talking family members as much as anything). I posted about that when Walker was making waves in Green Bay. Everyone I talked to close to the Packers said he was a good guy when he was with the team but whenever he went home he got filled with a lot of crap from people close to him and given how he isn't very bright he didn't realize they were often giving him bad advice.

It's possible, but when he blew out his ACL in 2005, the Packers ended up 4-12...so assuming he wasn't forced back onto the field by Shanahan at <100% after his injury this year, the two situations are pretty similar. It may be a little of both ego and the losing blues- in any case, the only thing that is clear is that he's chosen to be part of the problem rather than the solution. There's still some team out there that will give him a shot...so they should get whatever they can for him.

 No apologies for Walker, but playing with "one of the greatest QBs of all time" wasn't the issue. Losing and feeling underpaid and underapprecitated were. Maybe he needs to be the star, but many WRs do.

wow. that is probably the worst line I've heard in years. He's not the only one to make the assinince comparison, but wow. At least I have a new sig.

BTW, any guess on how many deployments many in our Armed Forces have gone on?

Seems like Walker wants to have his cake (paid top dollar) and eat it too (be on winning team). He can't have both.
Funny thing is, he had that in GB. If he just kept his trap shut he would of gotten paid. But to spout off and threaten a hold out just 2-3 years after already holding out on his rookie contract, got him a one way trip outta town. As they say... carefull what you wish for, you just might get it. Glad he is no longer in GB and i hope he fails every where else.

Javon has a two cent head and he gets doubly bad advice between his Pops and his agent. He is also a supreme talent and a hard worker. If he can recover, and he is still young so he just may, he could really impact a team. That he mentions the Packers shows maybe he is growing up and recognizing his mistake there. It also of course shows he cannot evaluate a teams need, unless he can play corner, safety or guard.

I resented his power play try back in Green Bay. I also did not hold the Packers blameless in the matter. Had they showed him just a little love and support when he got injured, had they publicly assured him he was in their plans and that they had cleared salary room for his negotiation much of this could have been avoided. There was plenty of blame to go around in that matter. I'd still like to see Walker do well.
Like they did by caving into his rookie holdout?!? 2 holdouts in 3 years will get you shown the door on just about EVERY team you play on.

I think you are wrong here. Walker was never #1 in GB and started the year as the #3 WR the year of his so called breakout year.

If the Broncos can get a fourth for him I think they will take it. I'd prefer a third, but given the question on his knee I doubt anybody will pony up that much.

Looks like the Broncos might get a break on his contract/cap hit though as it was a two tiered bonus and the second tier hasn't hit yet so it won't affect their cap as much.
