Jags and Giants both get off the schneid this week.
No, really, stop laughing.
(I was originally going for the no more winless teams but have zero confidence in Schiano's mess in Tampa)
Obviously the Jags are the much more unlikely of the two. Chargers are the much better and more talented team. But consider - short week, flying across country, early start for West Coast team. Plus how many times has Rivers followed up a huge win with a total garbage performance?
Jags also have another advantage going for them. They're wearing the alternate teal uni's. Plus there's a chance that Shorts and Blackmon might actually play like more than 4 minutes together. Marcedes could be back. They;re a bad team but they've been making baby steps. Some of the new additions in the secondary have actually been decent but lack of pass rush has killed them.Pasztor has been a decent run-blocking RT, They need to cut down on killer penalties and the coach has to stop making rash decisions.
Asfar as the Giants, I think the Beason pickup has helped the LB corps. The way to beat the Giants is to shred the secondary and I don't think Leslie Frazier will attack enough to do that. I can see the Giants putting points up early and shaking up the Vikes conservative gameplan.
In general, I think it's the point of the season where players on winless teams start playing for their jobs and are extra hungry for the W.
