Doesn't appear to be an existing thread on him. Any views on what to expect from him numbers-wise this year, with the information we now have about his health? Can't seem to find much info about what he's doing at camp or how long they're expecting it to take for him to get up to speed. There was discussion before his health became a conversation that he was going to become even more of a target this year than he "quietly" was last year.

In a nut shell, because of his illness he probably is going to have a slow start at the begining of the season but I think he picks it up after week 4 and puts close to what was projected before the mono and the viral infection.

IMO from a fantasy perspective his value will never be lower. At his age and coming off of the season he did (and didnt play the last game) in an all passing offense he's going to be a steal for fantasy teams. He's been back for close to a week now and we still have plenty of time before the season starts for him to get into shape.

Yes, his ADP has plummeted because of this and it's a GREAT time to get him at a very low price. He might not be quite back to game shape but he'll be close and he'll be productive.

...and shortly after that time Steve Smith will be back, tempering expectations in regards to Maclin's numbers.I think Maclin is going to end up at about a mediocre to weaker WR2 (mid 20s WR finish) when all is said and done.He certainly could end up closer to where he was projected prior to all this illness stuff, but a reduced expectation is more likely than not.

the real question is when to draft him? I would take him if he falls, but hes still going in round 4 of some mocks I have seen. Too high for me unless he drops another round or 2

I'm not looking that much into the Steve Smith taking away from Maclin. Maclin is still the biggest starting WR we have so I believe his 10 TD's last year in 15 games is legit. Also, I think Smith will be used much like we use Avant and that's underneath and he's coming off of a major knee injury which is a bigger concern to me....and he's on a one year deal...I cant imagine he'll factor into the game plans that much. I think Smith's name will far outweigh what he does this season for us stat wise.JMO anyway

I'm in a 4 man keep with 10 teams...I'm keeping 2 WR's and will take him as my #3 in the first round.
