Jerious Norwood - Future Starter or Scatback? (1 Viewer)

"I haven't seen a RB so bow legged since Walt Garrison... looks like he just got off a palomino." :lmao: :lmao:
Umm...the way he ran through the Titans D, he looked like we was still on it. Norwood =.....Eric Dickerson? (Norwood 6' 204 lbs. Dickerson 6' 3" 220 lbs.) Not sure, just saying they have similar body types and similar skill sets. I'm not pencilling a 2,000 yard season in for Norwood just yet.
I've tried serching but I can't find Dickerson's weight when he was drafted...was he always that heavy or did he bulk up later in his career? Not saying Norwood=Dickerson but might be an interesting comparison.

Man, glad I grabbed him as an FA in my 12-team redraft as my 5th RB.

Sure wish I'd spent more time here and known about him before my keeper league drafts though. :(

I did use Dunn in a keeper trade to land LJ though, so Norwood's performance makes me feel much better about that.

Ummm yeah. This cat got out of the bag just about three drafts too early for me. I had an early rookie draft where I moved two mid second round picks to move up into the first in order to get him. Since then most of my league mates in other leagues, some that are in more than one league with me, have sat up and said "who's that guy?" Followed by " ohhhh that guy."

I have yet to get him in another draft. With one to go I'm sure I won't get him this Sunday either.

Anyway he's got a future. I can see it now. FBG's reports that Atlants RB. Jerious Norwood has put on 10 pounds of muscle this offseason.

:banned:

I'm on the bandwagon. Reached for him in a 14 team league and will probably have to play him some. I figured if Bush can go 14 RB, Norwood at 25 RB wasn't too insane (well, maybe it was). ATL has to get this kid some touches. SO, now that Duckett is history, Jackson is cut---where does this leave us for Jerious's slice of the carries? Dunn simply won't be a true workhorse, every down back. Is it conceivable that Norwood gets 10-15 touches a game? Seems like a decent prospect, especially if he is able to do some damage yardage wise with a small number of carries. I realize Griffith is probably the short yardage TD guy, but for PPR and yardage leagues Norwood could have some great value.

Is it unrealistic for me to think he at least gets Ducket's numbers?
I have no expectations he'll get Duckett's annual 8-10 TDs. He might, but that would be gravy in my yardage league. I just hope he gets touches because he should be able to get some nice yardage, and reception numbers. I would think Griffith will probably get the Duckett, 1 yard plunge, role.

I got him in my 14-team league. Absolutely love the guy.I think he's worth at least an RB4 for most teams. He'll certainly be for me, behind Caddy, McGahee and Droughns. But I think he's totally money in dynasty leagues, because Dunn won't be there forever. And given that the Falcons were so willing to give up Duckett, Norwood is obviously the future of the organization. If they are comfortable with him (and they are one of the best rushing teams in the NFL), I can live with it.

so how long until he becomes a stud/starter?over/under January, 1st 2006.I take under
Unfortunately, the kid is going to have to look like the next Gale Sayers for that to happen this year, unless Dunn gets hurt. Even if he is borderline-great, Dunn will keep the starting gig by virtue of the fact that Mora respects the hell out of him and will keep him as the starter as a professional courtesy. That doesn't mean that Norwood can't come into the game EARLY and make it a true time-share situation. This time next year, I suspect Norwood is going in the 2nd round of many drafts.

Do you mean Jan 1, 2007? Let's not forget Dunn is a capable back. I drafted Norwood because I need an eventual replacement for Tiki in my keeper league. I'm hoping Norwood is that guy, but I'm not so sure it will be this year. Let's see what he does once the games are for real and he faces starting defences all the time.
