Jerious Norwood (1 Viewer)

I have found that good running backs (like Dillon, etc.) sort of get a one year grace period to show the "chinks" in their amour (I don't have a ton of data to back...just observation). Unless Dunn starts to break down this year, I think Norwood will play a specialty/third down role next year (ala Duckett in ATL). We'll see what happens with Dunn next year, but I think it will take an injury to Dunn for Norwood to get the lead role next year. I don't even think it wil be RBBC in 2007.

Dunn is a CORNERSTONE of the team. In every way. If by name only, he'll be the starter. And still get his carries.

Norwood is starting to pull a little LJ. He's playing so well, he's forcing them to give him more carries. On both game winning drives the last two weeks (OT/4th) Norwood was on the field.

So lets say he keeps playing so well, you simply can't keep him on the bench, they'll still do a Holmes/LJ with Dunn starting, and Norwood getting his cracks. But like Holmes, they won't sit Dunn. They just believe he brings so much to the team, they want him on the field.

So at best, it's a Holmes/LJ waiting for Dunn to get hurt type deal. 2008, who knows.

i tend to think there's at least a chance Dunn follows Tiki's lead and hangs em up after this season. just throwing it out there as pure conjecture, but he's been in the league awhile, and i'm sure he is at least thinking of life after football at this point.

but if not, i agree with the LJ/Priest scenario mentioned above. that was a good post.

Maybe even better than Dunn. Dunn is averaging 4.5 per carry. Norwood is 6.8per carry. Not saying he's the next Barry Sanders but it does make you wonder what Norwood could do if given the featured back role.

I don' t think he is the man in ATL. First of all he would have to beat Dunn out. Then Dunn would still be an effective weapon for the Falcons.... so that would cut into Norwoods looks.
