Redman is being overlooked. He could be a monster and Mendy could be an afterthought.

A guy who the previous 2 seasons rushed for 1200+ and 1100+ and had 22 TDs in his last 2 seasons and is only 24 year's old...an afterthought? I realize that some people think Mendy isn't the sexiest RB but seriously? Mendy is the starter when he comes back healthy. Period. No question (or afterthoughts).
Disagree respectfully. Lots of questions IMO.The first question is when does he come back healthy? Is that 2012? If so, Redman will have likely had a minimum of 6 games to demonstrate what he can do as a lead back. Second question, once off PUP, how healthy will Mendenahll look and (third question) how much will the Steelers limit his touches to allow him to continue to recover?
If Redman's got a hot hand and Mendenhall is still working his way back, I don't think it's at all clear he is simply handed a full workload at any point in 2012.
Throw in that this is Mendenhall's final year on his deal and that raises yet another (fourth) question. Do the Steelers make a decision to simply move on and roll with Redman as the lead carrier in anticipation of Mendenhall leaving in 2013? If the cap is flat and facing contract concerns with both Wallace and Antonio Brown, I view Mendenhall as completely expendable for cap purposes. Unless he comes back at far more of a discount than I anticipate, I think Mendenhall is as good as gone in 2013.
Finally, there are already questions about who is the better fir for the Steelers O as currently comprised and given the OL situation. Many knowledgeable fans believe Redman can be equal to if not more productive than Mendenhall.
So, again respectfully, I don't think Mendenhall's future in Pitt is nearly so cut and dried as you seem to.
As to the Dwyer question, he needs to spend this off season with Tom Shaw, as has been rumored, rather than his usual Ronald McDonalds off season. He's got to answer the motivational and health questions long before I'd consider him to be anymore than competition with Clay to be Redman's caddy.
