I don't understand.. I heard so much about this guy coming into this season.. it is like he was the first guy that everyone hyped about.. so he is old news or something... This kid looks like a superstar when he plays and is definitely the "Real Deal" ... i am a Panthers fan and he has whooped up on us for the past two years.. now grant it we haven't been all that great, but regardless Tampa Bay was crap until he came around...

He went from

2009 10 games played Averaged 185 pass yd/game, 16 rush yds/game... 10 TD and 18 int (had a huge Interception problem in college)

2010 16 games played Averaged 215 pass yd/game, 23 rush yds/game... 25 TD and 6 int (that is a huge improvement for someone with a problem in only half a season of being the starter)

2011 16 games played Averages 235 pass yd/game, 22 rush yds/game... 27 TD and 11 int ... with 3-5 Rushing TD's

what makes us think he can't improve more this year??? That is 3760 Pass Yds, 27 TD, 11 ints, 352 rush yds, 4 rush TD's (the guy is bound to get to "Pay dirt" a few times this season.. just doesn't make sense that he hasn't scored yet)

That would make him borderline Top 5 QB in my league... 333.2 Fantasy Points

((that would have been #4 in our scoring last year))

Yeah the hype train really fizzled during the Days of Our Tebow spring that we had. Then Stafford's meteoric rise into sleeper QB du jour...

I've got this guy AND stafford in a couple leagues, and I gotta say I'm pretty happy about it.

If freeman does run a couple in on his own this year, and has a similar season statistically as last year, he's a huge value, and just another reason to wait on QB this year.

I was the last one to pick a QB and got Freeman in the 8th. Followed him with Stafford and E. Manning. Combining their schedules means lots of nice home games for my QB. Picking my QB later allowed me to go RB/WR with my first 6 picks. Worked out nice for my team.

dude drop manning for a rb/wr ,I cant see a point where i would start him at all over the other 2

Big rosters so not much out there right now. Plus, Manning has some nice home games in wk2 STL, wk5 SEA and wk6 Buff. Could move him after this run or drop him if I need to pick someone up. Anyways, still happy with waiting on the QB strategy.

I'm a Bucs homer, but it's hard to give you a first hand impression of him this year because the games are blacked out  .

I've managed to watch every snap this preseason and the team (including Freeman) hasn't been sharp. It's one of the reasons that everyone is now predicting TB to have a letdown year. I still have total faith that Freeman will continue his progression as a QB, which will lead to wins for Tampa. There's no guarantee that he'll improve from a fantasy prospective over last year's impressive showing, but there's PLENTY of reasons to be excited. Arrelious Benn looked 100% in the Miami game. FBG has TB's oline ranked 7th in the league, which is the most important factor for Freeman to succeed.

I wouldn't be comfortable rolling with Freeman as my undisputed starter this year, but I'd be happy pairing him with another upside guy like Stafford (most preferably) or Bradford.

He probably has a floor around last year's numbers, although he could easily throw a few more than 6 interceptions. As far as upside hype? 3,800 passing, 500 rushing, 32 total TDs. It's the rushing yards that get me most excited about Freeman's fantasy potential. Anyone who watches the games knows that he should be running a lot more than he does. There were numerous times last season where I was screaming at the TV like a lunatic for him to run the ball. He's very effective whenever he pulls it down and takes off, and I'd like to see him take some more chances when the field isn't quite so wide open in front of him. Take the reigns off, Raheem!

Pretty much this. He hasnt been that impressive this preseason either

I see him as being a better NFL QB than FF QB this season. He's a true leader and won't throw many INT's. However, I don't see him having many games where he'll throw for over 300 yards.

For dynasty play, I'd definitely recommend him, but I think his numbers stay much the same this season as teams now have a whole season worth of videotape at their disposal. That and their running game is below average without much depth.

Great #2 QB to have, but I'm not sure I'd want to go into a season with him as my #1 guy.
